[QUOTE="BibiMaghoo"] Then sir, you are a gamer, not a lem. I like you. Ive yet to play batman unfortunatly, to many good games at the same time, but ill get to it for sure. And I have seen reports of bugs and glitches on all platforms, if you are lucky enough not to have encountered any, then your are lucky lol. Of course the chances of such an encounter are slimmer on the PC, but they do happen. sts106mat

He is still a lem. My favourite game this year was Portal 2 and I'm definitely a cow.

if by definition a lem is someone who only games on a 360, then yes that's me.

No, a Lem is someone who can only see the merits of there chosen platform, and whos blind fanoy loyalty to a brand means they never appreciate the good games that are multiplat or exclusive to another platform. just gaming on the 360 doesnt make you a lem.

[QUOTE="BibiMaghoo"]I find it shameful that a game with so many bugs and glitches ON ALL platforms should win any GOTY or any events at all. Perhaps once its been fixed a bit more, but as it stands its an insult.sts106mat
everyone is experiencing bugs and glitches? news to me.

Are you seriously implying that you haven't experinced any bugs in skyrim? Either you're lying, in denial or haven't played it for more than an hour at most. It's full of bugs and glitches, some minor and some very severe. Everyone will experience them, pick any reason above if you try to argument otherwise.

Not GOTY for me, the world is too dead for my taste, watered down RPG elements and the quests are still very medicore and some worse than Oblivion(Brotherhood, I am looking at you).

Oh my god. I have 90 hours logged into Skyrim and calling it GOTY is not suitable in any way. Yes there is a lot of things to do. At least 5 types of instances repeated as well as some overworld kill/fetch quests. It put up a smoke screen of allowing you to do a lot more things than you actually can, but even at that it's not my biggest problem with it winning any kind of award. Bugs/Glitches/Crashes/Poor engine optimization/ sub-par A.I all of with plague Skyrim to the point of barely being playable. Not since New Vegas have I encountered a game this broken upon release, and for it to be rewarded with GOTY makes it A-OK for developers to not only release untested games but, give the consumers horrendus costumer support.

My comment was more in regard to broken quests. My partner has come across two on the 360 that she cannot complete due to NPC's going through walls or disapearing etc.

i am over 20 hours, the most worrying thing i have experienced is a rabbit running across the bottom of a lake, hardly game breaking. even if the game is full of stuff like that, so what, it does not spoil the experience for me. i like the exploring and the questing, which thankfully skyrim has in spades, so i am good thanks.

So I guess you're going for that you are in deep denial? Good that you are enjoying it, it's still not GOTY material.

well that of course sucks big time, but i tend to use multiple saves IN CASE anything like that might happen.

yeah, its actually put her off playing it futher, as she doesnt know if a restart is now needed. Its a bummer for sure. Of course at least the 360 version has a playable framerate, I game on PS3, and am waiting for it to be fixed before I buy it.

its a game that will probably never be played EXACTLY the same by anyone anywhere in the world. how can you play test every eventuality, there are a lot of fetch quests, but there always have been with games like this, oh and the radiant story gives random fetch quests which might be why you see a lot of them, I just ignore them until i am in the area for some other reason.sts106mat
I don't see how the whole "play your owns style" really is valid when it comes to Skyrim. It had a bigger effect in Witcher 2. In Skyrim you usually have an option of doing the quest or not doing the quest. Going into an instance or not going into it. Skilling a certain thing, or not skilling it. And so on and so forth. Infact myself who plays as a Imperial Warrior has done the exact same quests etc as my buddy who plays as a Kajit Thief except for the fact that he is with the Dark Brotherhood and i'm with The Inner Circle.

I can't really comment on Skyrim since I've put very little time into it thus far  but VGA giving Skyrim their award says doodly squat about how good a game really is.

Just sayin :P

I doubt that the staff behind these VGAs have even heard of The Witcher 2, and in any case, they clearly weren't taking these awards very seriously.

How does a studio win the studio of the year award, when all they did for the entire year was release one unstable game (and three patches, which tended to break as much as they fixed)?

I am totally addicted to Skyrim right now. I have bought Saints Row 3, Skyward Sword, Sly Collection, and Dark Souls since, and haven't even touched them yet because I can't stop playing Skyrim. It might be my GOTY, but it's a tough choice between it and Uncharted 3. That said, people trying to claim that the 360 version (which I have) isn't also very buggy are delusional. I've experienced the famed backward flying dragon, broken quests, and, although not occurring as often as the PS3 version, a framerate so poor that I had to reset the whole game to correct. There is no doubt it overall plays better than the PS3 version though.

PC and 360 GOTY.

But did Bethesda not get studio of the year? I would assume the award would go to developers that do a good job on their games.

With that said, im going to play the hell out of skyrim once my rig is finished.

all my dragons are flying the correct way, i have had the game freeze once, (assassins creed froze twice). no broken quests and no framerate problems yet, so my game isn't "VERY BUGGY" and therefore i am not delusional dude, . just because some people are having problems doesn't mean everyone else is.

I didn't say that some people don't have pretty flawless experiences. I'm saying that there are some peole who try to claim the 360 version is absolutely perfect and get defensive when someone mentions even the slightest flaw with it. Hey, if yours is running great that's awesome, but I also don't think that your fanboyism reaches the level of an Abonsabo to LoosingENDS in which only the PS3 version has flaws and the 360 version is perfect.

I have heard this works, but frankly, I shouldnt haveto wipe my 320gb harddrive to play a game properly, I refuse in fact. Might be alright for peoplewith small drives / no psn games, But I have over 20 full games on my drive, and wont be donwloading them again just to play skyrim lol, people shouldnt have to , and until they fix this, they dont get my money.

well no.. but there are developers out there which at least release expansion packs or support the game a lot after release. Why give it to them when there are other devs just as good

Personally, Arkham City is GOTY for me, but that may be simply because it has much smaller shoes to fill. I expect Bethesda's games to live up to the Elder Scrolls legacy, not disgrace it. Whereas Arkham City clearly surpasses Arkham Asylum in almost every way.

fixing the ''swinging at the air combat'' was the one thing I wanted fixed from Oblivion, the only thing I really wanted to be different, and they didnt bother lol. Realism is somewhat reduced when you cant actually hit anything lol.

I think its unbelievable that a game can have as many bugs as Skyrim and win GOTY. This game has serious issues. IGN was running top 10 Skyrim Bug videos within less than a week. It might still be a good game, but so were a lot of others that actually put out a finished, polished product. So where is Bethesda's incentive to release a finished game with minimal bugs when they can clean up awards and critic reviews regardless?

How many studios do you know that did release more than one game this year?
