As a Zelda fan, Skyward Sword was crap on Wii and I have no intention of buying this! I'll wait for the Oracle remakes.
The motion controls really did it in. Overall the game wasn't bad at all but the controls were its achilles heel that was, IMO, impossible of overcoming.
Bit different for me. One thing I actually like with SS was the controls. The negative thing I can say about them was that it made Link look dumb as hell running around holding the sword pointing straight out. Ruined the immersion quite a bit.
What made me quit playing midgame was that it was just really dull. Going back to uninteresting places many times over, doing dull tasks, lame overworld, completely unnecessary information popups that resets everytime you restart the game, ugly monster designs, severe case of hand-holding, Fi taking the crown of annoyance from Navi..
There was Zelda goodness in there, but to get to it, you just had to plow through way too much crap. Couldn't take it anymore and just gave up on it. Since the controls was not the reason why I dislike the game, I have zero interest in the Switch version even though you can play with normal controls.
