Noooooooooooooooooooooo. Sleeping dogs was such a sleeper hit for me. Didnt play it until it was on GWG and was very pleasantly surprised.
I didn't like Sleeping Dogs at all, so I personally do not care that much. However, even if they are shut down, that doesn't mean there will be no SD2. The Ip can still be sold
Sleeping Dogs sleeps with the fishes.
Did the developer ever do anything else of noteworthiness? It was a late last gen game with an early next gen remaster. Was that it?
There goes another good developer. Sleeping Dogs was a solid game. They shouldn't have wasted their money making wannabe MMO.

That's Square Enix' fault.
Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution and Tomb Raider all sold millions of copies, but SE wasn't happy sooooo
Hitman turned into an episodic game
Tomb Raider turned into an exclusivity deal
And sleeping dogs turned into a F2P MMO that nobody asked for.

What MMO they were making?

Hitman turning into an episodic game was the best thing to happen to the series. it worked out perfectly for them.
@mems_1224: Really ? I heard a lot of people saying they're not interested in the game because of that approach. And I heard so many people saying that they'll only buy the game once it's complete.
Haven't played the full game yet. But when I tried the beta it ran like absolute crap on my PC.
I'd say "perfectly" is a very strong word :P
Sleeping Dogs ended up being one of my favorite games of last gen. The hand to hand combat was really good and I enjoyed the game world a lot. This is sad news.
I never played sleeping dogs but I'm sad to see them close. They should have invested time and money in making a new game rather than a remastered version of a game that no one asked for.
Sleeping Dogs was amazing, everyone loved it... Except for Square Enix
And the TC, evidently.

Sleeping Dogs' MMO sequel. Forgot the name. You can google it.

As someone once said "Square Enix has great games but they don't know how to sell them". Shady tactics are normal with their every release these days. As if they consider it a sin to release a game without bullshit for once.

its better than GTA. but thats not a good achievement.

Your opinion is your own it doesn't apply to my gaming.

Didn't know there was a MMO. Never heard any news about that.
@koko-goal:No,I don't.I'm too lazy to plug my PS3.I love it!its a really fun game, the matchmaker is fantastic!
You can also create your own car and character.I highly recommend it,you will have a blast!

Yeah Deus Ex could've launched normally.
No wait, let's add microtransactions at the last minute. People love those right ?
The problem is, it's allways the hard working devs that end up taking the blame. Those higher ups that make all these crappy decisions, have their jobs secured.

Their sales expectations for those games was stupid to say the least
Shame for sleeping dogs. A great game and instead of start working on 2 they wasted resources on that MMO no one cared to begin with

And that is what killed United Front I think, that MMO called Triad Wars.
As a die hard GTA fan since III I absolutely hated Sleeping Dogs. Still though, it seems that they had a massive fan following and they did some pretty cool stuff with their open world design. This really sucks, especially with so many tired open world games releasing lately. The open world genre could have really benefitted from the variety they brought to the table.
