I've owned a fat since launchandgota slim, and both are good. The slim looks much nicer than people make it out to be. Everyone says it looks cheap, but I can tell you it does not. And the push buttons are not crappy ether. Overall I'd say go for the slim, but if you want to save soem $$$ then the fat is perfect. Also I've noticed the slim gets hotter faster than the fat.
fat for me. my brother got slim, looks cheap in my opinion. more so, my fat can play all my ps1 and ps2 games in 1080p. slim does not. then again, mine is a launch ps3.

slim looks reserved and elegant whereas the fat looks like it's trying to make up for something and is overly flashy on top

slightly over 2 times as much space as mine :o I got a 500gb installed in my ps3. for cheap too. yeah, i just figured if i need more space that i'd buy a HDD of my own choosing
Slim. It's smaller, lighter, uses less power, and aside from that it's the same thing as a fat just with a bigger hard drive. However if you can find a 20, 60, or 80 gig (BC) model, that's worth it in its own right (although I'd still prefer slim).
