Looks like it's happening, if you allow it.

Looks hideous as the Steam controller. But I want one.

  • SZ PRO: 8GB RAM vs SZ: 4GB RAM.
  • SZ PRO: 128GB HD vs SZ: 64 GB HD.
  • SZ PRO: Front-camera vs SZ: No camera.
  • SZ PRO: 4G connectivity vs SZ: Only WIFI.

Uses an AMD chip (lol AMD), interchangeable pads as well.

Vita about to be destroyed by a new indie champ?

@altivera: It's basically an x86 mini PC.

Support for Windows 10 installation will be added later on.

They better add it sooner, most steam games which suited as handheld game is not supporting Steam OS.

This definitely looks interesting but I am not sure I would get one myself, unless I suddenly find myself on the move a lot.

Lol no. I am not falling for this. Hardware Kickstarters are mostly scams.

This. SteamOS library is laughable as it stands.

i love the idea. steam has a ton of games that would be great on a handheld and there is always the option to stream games from a PC for games its not capable of playing.

the kickstarter video may have oversold it though. im looking up the G series SOC and they are not very powerful. something around wiiu levels maybe.

they wont be going for one of the 25W models due to heat and power draw so it has to be one of the 6 or 7w versions (even that is quite a lot for a handheld device).

there is also the issue that AMD support for linux (thus steam OS)..well...it needs work. hopefully things will improve by the time the device actually releases but its rough at the moment.

but playing the latest and greatest AAA titles on that thing? aint going to happen.

going for a 1080P screen is also a really really bad idea. its an extra strain on the SOC and offers very little benefit for a 5" gaming device.

as long as expectations are kept in check though i think this will be a great machine.

$199 CAD with full support for emulators and I'll dive right in.

Other than that, consider me uninterested. No matter the tech, anything more than $200 for a handheld is laughable.
