There's nothing stopping them from putting it on multiple discs.blurb1324Would you realy like to stop and change disc just as your about to pass over to another county or state or city with police on your tail?

If they sat down and said "lets fill a blu-ray" as their starting point for designing the game then yeah the 360 would be holding it back. Otherwise its impossible to say.JiveTThat would be fun. You could play across the entire east cost:D Could realy make for an open ending. and have so you would have to build up your own crime empire takeing over whole citys, having to fight of ramdom attacks from other factions etc.

We could demand that they make a game like that:D Finaly would it be worth stealing a plane other then to just have a joy ride. I don't realy see anyone driving from Miami(isn't that in florida?) to New York:P
better graphics on x360? rofl
if they build gta4 based on ps3 hardware first the x360 version would be a disaster.

i love how you think they would do a sloppy port job to the 360 if this was the case. If they messed up GTA4, rockstar would have their head on sticks, end of story.better graphics on x360? rofl

yes a smaller world. As the last GTA game was so big, and was only around 4 or 5 gig. Not to mention the size of oblivion.... These guys are top quality, and will make lines of code to repeat most of the world. Like most game devs would do with such an open world. It saves time, and disc space. Thus putting more time into missions.
Dont forget it will also have a PC port.

For a last gen game, GTA: SA took up a crapload of disc space. 4 to 5 gigs is a lot of space considering the lower end graphics, sound, physics. 720p and 1080i game as large as San Andreas will take up much more space than San Andreas did on PS2. GTAIV will have much more complicated graphics and physics applied. Yes, compression methods improve over time...and yes, Oblivion only took up half of DVD-9...But Oblivion on 360 chugged along with a shoddy framerate at times...also there were ultra low res textures in the distance.Â
I'm worried that GTAIV on 360 will once again have a short draw distance just like the other GTAs..Saints Row even had massive slowdown when using a rocket launcher on several vehicles at once, and that game is probably nowhere near the size or quality that RockStar is trying to accomplish with GTAIV...I'm fully expecting terrible graphics and low draw distance just like every other GTA game on consoles from last gen.
Mass effect say no . in GTA The maps might be big , but 99% of the building are place holder .Prid3rthat's true. most of the buildings are just there, you can't go in, and if you can, it's not too intricate. besides, they could always do single player on one disk and multi on the other.
i thought they confirmed it wasn't going to be a big region, but one city like how GTA3 was.6icks_tea_4hoar

Now why do you say that the graphics are going to get downgraded for the PS3 version?Wasdiecuz of the lack of ram and crap GPU?
Yes im a girl, DEAL WITH IT!  trasherhead
That explains the senseless post.
j/k
Oblivion worked on 360's dvd so why not gta? And the only downgrading due to PS3 would be due to lazyness (but Rockstar is awsome so im sure they wont do that)
Since when is the 360 more graphically capable than the PS3? I'm gonna laugh when 360 fanboys compare Oblivion from the PS3 to the Xbox 360.Rhaxdricsince always :|
graphics because ps3 is too weak.X360PS3AMD05
