True,Time in teh internetz is faster than regular time.

Anyway i would probably play with the wiimote in single player and then buy a cheap wireless GC controller to play it online.

Darn, looks oike I don't five bucks from my friend, but I won't lose it either.  I'm happy that it will not be just Wiimote, I prefer a classic controller (Gamecube) layout much more then a Wiimote layout for Smash Bros.

This is how I kept saying it would work, but people wouldn't listen, because it works for their argument better if you have to buy a GC or VC controller.

This could be good for Wii Gamers but on the other hand, this could end up as a Jack of All Trades, Master of None situation.

I love how Nintendo caters its fans.  Half of the fans wanted to use the GC controller because they were use to it and thought the Wiimote would be awkward, while another half wanted to try something new and wanted to use the Wiimote and than a small portion suggested the classic control. So they made everybody happy  .

So which control scheme are you going to use?  I'll probably stick with GC, simply because I have muscle memory in my fingers that will give me a distinct advantage when I first pick it up, vs having to learn a new control scheme.

Lets hope not but i don't like the idea of using the side of the wiimote also the classic controller which is kinda like a ps2 controller seems like a substitute if you don't have a GC controller at hand.

Imo the ones that will work would be the Nunchuck + wiimote and the GC controller

GC controller unless the classic controllerfinds a way to exploit the game.I don't believe the Classicis ever going to surpass the GC controller.Wow talking about this somehow reminds me my days in MTG.

Gamecube controller

5/5 Constructed.Experts Choice

4.5/5 Cassual-Nunchuck owns here

3.5/5Limited-Not included in the wii package.

Nunchuck + wiimote

3.5/5 Constructed -GC owns here

5/5 Casual -Fun+motion = win

4/5Limited -Wiimote included

Side Wiimote

2.5/5 Constructed-GC or DEAD

2.5/5 Casual-Nunchuck Domination

4/5Limited -is included in the wii package.

Classic

4/5 Constructed-Good but you have GC here

3.5/5 Casual-Is not as cool as the Nunchuck.

3/5Limited - Not included.

I will probably use the Wiimote + nunchuck at first, or the GC controller because I have 3 of them, however I dont own a VC controller yet and the Wiimote sideways might be weird.

I like more my answer but that seems to be right.Tilt down to roll, left or right to shield,up to do and air dodge.

Maybe they have diffrent modes for each of the crontrolls. Or Trophys or something... wouldn't suprise me.

Also if you could play online maybe you can set it so you only have people with the same controll style...

anyway... that's what I would do...

I'll proabally use the GC controller by default and sometimes try the wii/nunchuck control just for the sake of mastering them and having bragging rights about beating people online with the mote/chuck combo.

although a nunchuck comes free with a Wii, what about a second controller?

Anyway, the Wii remote on it's side is very usefull. Smash Bros. could EASILY work like that. Especially the D-pad.

Gamecube controllers are not in circulation as much as they used to. They don't even have them in Wal*Mart anymore. However, Classic Controller can be found anywhere.

Way to dodge the point. If the Wiimote can handle games like SSBM, which uses every button on the controller, then why bring out a controller for backwards compatibility?

So people can choose a mode they are more happy using.

It works just fine with a Wiimote, but if you bought a classic controller, you can use it there to get your money's worth!

Simple, no?

not even close. the Dpad is the major limiting factor here because you cant tilt a Dpad. and there probably wont be a button specifically designated as "jump" so you aer forced to use up. and no C-stick like function. I that layout absolutly requires motion control to work.
