I love how Nintendo caters its fans. Half of the fans wanted to use the GC controller because they were use to it and thought the Wiimote would be awkward, while another half wanted to try something new and wanted to use the Wiimote and than a small portion suggested the classic control. So they made everybody happy .
This could be good for Wii Gamers but on the other hand, this could end up as a Jack of All Trades, Master of None situation.RurouniSaiyajin
Lets hope not but i don't like the idea of using the side of the wiimote also the classic controller which is kinda like a ps2 controller seems like a substitute if you don't have a GC controller at hand.
Imo the ones that will work would be the Nunchuck + wiimote and the GC controller
Same here I have a Wavebird Controller that I will be using because I don't want to learn a new Control scheme. So which control scheme are you going to use? I'll probably stick with GC, simply because I have muscle memory in my fingers that will give me a distinct advantage when I first pick it up, vs having to learn a new control scheme.

if you want to play to win you will use the gamecube or vc controllerssolidgamer
GC controller unless the classic controllerfinds a way to exploit the game.I don't believe the Classicis ever going to surpass the GC controller.Wow talking about this somehow reminds me my days in MTG.
Gamecube controller

Anybody have ideas on how you would use the wiimote on it's side? Lacking sholder buttons you couldn't roll, shield or air dodge.yoshi-lnexMaybe it will use Tilt to do that stuff.

I like more my answer but that seems to be right.Tilt down to roll, left or right to shield,up to do and air dodge.

using the wiimote sideways is awful.....i dont know why people even consider the possibility of playing like thatGears360
Maybe they have diffrent modes for each of the crontrolls. Or Trophys or something... wouldn't suprise me.
Also if you could play online maybe you can set it so you only have people with the same controll style...
anyway... that's what I would do...
I'll proabally use the GC controller by default and sometimes try the wii/nunchuck control just for the sake of mastering them and having bragging rights about beating people online with the mote/chuck combo.
"Your using the GC controller? taking the easy way out I see"
Yeah it is. Hope it isn't too watered down.[QUOTE="HappyInvader101"]The Wiimote on it's side control is a bad sign...Grodus5
P.S. I love your sig.
Watered down? It has more of enough buttons to play Smash Bros. Melee! It's perfect for the wiimote on its side.

its there for people who dont have nunchucks
although a nunchuck comes free with a Wii, what about a second controller?
Anyway, the Wii remote on it's side is very usefull. Smash Bros. could EASILY work like that. Especially the D-pad.

Don't think so. If it was, why did they bring out the classic controller?

Gamecube controllers are not in circulation as much as they used to. They don't even have them in Wal*Mart anymore. However, Classic Controller can be found anywhere.

Way to dodge the point. If the Wiimote can handle games like SSBM, which uses every button on the controller, then why bring out a controller for backwards compatibility?

If photoshop didn't cost About $100, I would buy it to make sigs like yours....
On topic: I thought this was covered already months ago...
Yeah, and I was the one that made the topic!

So people can choose a mode they are more happy using.
It works just fine with a Wiimote, but if you bought a classic controller, you can use it there to get your money's worth!
Simple, no?

not even close. the Dpad is the major limiting factor here because you cant tilt a Dpad. and there probably wont be a button specifically designated as "jump" so you aer forced to use up. and no C-stick like function. I that layout absolutly requires motion control to work.I love how Nintendo caters its fans. Time does not actually exist, it is merely a construct of conciousness
I think, therefore I am.
My watch ticks, therefore time exist.
You think, but the watch does not, so how do you know it exists? :P
