LBP is just fasinating so it is number 1 SPG is number 2 R&CF: ToD ... hello its rachet and clank ... J&D ... good series ... Banjo ... hmm ... maybe ...
I'm going with R&C for now. SMG looks different, but I'm not sure if I like the look of it just yet, need to get hands on first. Banjo should be good, but PDZ and Kameo didn't impress me much, even though my son absolutely loves Kameo. J&D has always struck me as a mediocre series. LBP looks really neat, but it looks less like a platformer and more of a sandbox type game.
Jack and daxter failed after #1. The entire layout of #2 was a mess... I didn't play #3 but #2 was a complete an udder mess. Banjo is a great series, but I'm curious to see if it holds up to modern platforming standerds, or if it will keep and old school, flawed collection-mission. Mario is going ot be great but what I worry about in them is difficulty, and to be honest, I have never touched a ratchet and clank game, so no comment.
LBP is structurless, so it deserves to be in some other catagory.
I can't decide between Super Mario Galaxy, Banjo Threeie, and Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction, I'm just saying that because I like those Platformers but I'm not interested in the other games, because I didn't like the other Jak & Daxter games and I'm not interested in LBP.
Galaxy will own. Banjo might come in second, assuming Rare doesn't screw it up like they've screwed up everything else since Starfox Adventure.Michael85
Well let's look at what we've got. SMG has been in the works for 10 years now and is far and away the best looking Wii game to date. Little Big Planet has won numerous E3 awards on many different sites. Banjo Threeie is another installment in the Bajo series so it has high chances of being great. Jack and Daxter has always been good, but not great. Ratchet and Clank is from a high scoring series so it has good chances of being great.
People may blast me but I can't see the third part of the Banjo Kazooie series being something special. OK its Rare, buta majority of thepeople who created the epic magic of Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie are gone, leaving Rare (especially in terms of Banjo Kazooie series)nothing more than a shell. I don't believe the current batch of developerswill bring a great platforming game for today with the same charm of the other two. Ratchet and Clank is great, and I do like the series so I can see the next one following in the footsteps, and Jack and Daxter does not reach those high heights for me (especially when compared to Ratchet and Clank).
Mario Galaxy destroys those other games 10 times over
edit: didn't see LBP. LBP should be amazing but i dont think it'll be as good as SMG. i'd say SMG will be slightly better but LBP will be the best 2D platformer
why is jak and daxter on the list. there is no sequal planned or even hear od at this moment. remember it was a trilogy.
anyway Banjo, RARE WILL COMPLETE ITS COMEBACK WITH THIS.
runner up is Super Mario Galaxy(its Mario and Miyamoto as the director) the last 2 games he directed were Pikmin and Ocarina of Time. THe last Mario game he directed was Super Mario 64. can you say instant greatness.
Little Big Planet in third, why because the game is awesome. Just awesome. I just prefer the other 2 more.
Ratchet- great series but i think the back to basics thing hurt the new game, because its gotten some bad previews.
SMG is probably going to be the best out of all of those, but LBP is definetely getting my attention. In terms of just interesting, innovative gameplay I think SMG and LBP are the ones to look out for
if you wanna go by a historical gamespot review of each previous game ineach series(cept lbp of course), it would show that banjo is destined to be the superior of the list.

yeah... probably not gonna come out until late 2008 though.
SMG absolutely no competition because LBP isn't really a platformer. its more of a customisable puzzle solving, co operative......god knows what that game is.
anyway mario because its the first game since OOT that miyamotohas directed. maybe the best platformer ever :shock:
