There was some cat in the forums a while back saying Splinter Cell > MGS, so I thought I'd settle it.
I say Snake. Period. End of story.
What say you?
*Edit: And you said Snake! Snake wins! End of thread!

While I'm not going to involve myself in a debate over which fictional character is better, the Splinter Cell games are definitely better than the Metal Gear Solid games. The misions are complex and varied, you don't feel like you're treading the same ground repeatedly, the shadow mechanic is the best since Thief, and the plot plays out without breaking interactivity - you're not subjected to a cutscene every ten minutes. I can't wait to see how their reinvention of the series plays out.lowe0
To each is own, I like the way MGS works, what with the lenghthy cutscenes and heady, politically charged firecracker dialogue.

And while Splinter Cell's story is as predictable as any story with Clancy's name on it, I'll take it over the drug-induced hallucination that appears to be the plot of Metal Gear Solid.lowe0

Thank u, MGS has the best storyline in any videogame series In MY FREAKIN OPINION. MGS owns. Splinter cell to me has a terrible storyline usually. just bleh. as for the games, meh there good. I think they are overhyped and overdone. I like the gameplay in MGS. The gameplay, story, presentation, and overall characters are much cooler in MGS.While I'm not going to involve myself in a debate over which fictional character is better, the Splinter Cell games are definitely better than the Metal Gear Solid games. Agree'd. I would put MGS as a action/stealth game. Kind of like how system shock and bioshock are fps/rpg. The better stealth game hands down is Splinter cell. Action wise is MGS.

Thank u, MGS has the best storyline in any videogame series In MY FREAKIN OPINION. As much as i love MGS, i disagree. Half life is better in my eyes, but i had heart stoping moments in both games.Yeah snake for sure. He would kill same fisher 5 times before he hit the ground. Thats right, 5 times.

snake has heightend(sp?) senses. He will be able to hear Sam, he will be all over Sam before Sam can make a move. and in terms of combat, please Snake would destroy Fisher. Sam is more sneaky, but not enough that Snake cant beat him.[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="jetthrovegas"][QUOTE="lowe0"]While I'm not going to involve myself in a debate over which fictional character is better, the Splinter Cell games are definitely better than the Metal Gear Solid games. thats the IN MY Freaking Opinion part. and i loved Half Life. its just that MGS 1 owned in terms of story. MGS 2 was really good. MGS 3 was one of those few games that got you pretty sad at the end. The series is just awesome. Kojima is a story telling genious. I cant wait for MGS 4. That game alone will have me purchase a PS3.[QUOTE="DoctorBunny"][QUOTE="Sully28"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"][QUOTE="jetthrovegas"][QUOTE="lowe0"]While I'm not going to involve myself in a debate over which fictional character is better, the Splinter Cell games are definitely better than the Metal Gear Solid games. dont have a PS3 and have a 360. Snake would win simply on the fact that he is a genetically enhanced super soldier. Fisher can be quite all he wants, the slightest, and i mean the slightest noise will be heard by snake. And in terms of combat SNake wins hands down. Im not picking Snake because im a cow or something. Im picking SNake because A i like MGS more and B Snake would honestly whip his A$$just to clarify, is it Snake before his genes started breaking down, or is it Old Snake versus Fisher?
if normal Snake and Sam were in a sneaking match, to see who could kill the other from behind, they would be locked in a stalemate until they both died of old age.
if it was in open combat, hand-to-hand, Snake would own. Sam has mad skills, training, and experience, but Snake was built from the ground up to be a super soldier. Snake has slightly more physical strength, more stamina, and quicker reflexes. He also doesn't rely on any specific fighting style, but Sam could choose not to employ his Krav Maga style.
also, what kind of equipment would they be wearing? Those sneaking suits they have are bullet-proof (some, at least)

Played SC on Xbox. MGS gameplay is much more fun. SC has bad animation, and you say it's more realistic but sam never turns off his goggles, hidden in shadows means all, he can stand indefinitely on two side walls with his feet. Sam doesn't even crawl.
