http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=1297 WOW!! It states that all PS3 MGS4 console bundles sold out in minutes across all Wal marts nationwide which total out to be 70 thousand consoles moved in just one day!! THATS 70 THOUSAND CONSOLES IN ONLY ONE DAY AT ONLY ONE RETAILER!! NOT INCLUDING GAMESTOP, BEST BUY, CIRCUIT CITY ETC!! Wow thats huge! next month NPD will show PS3 at ATLEAST 500,000 plus consoles sold!! Go Konami for exceeding your 1 million on day one goal!! and who says MGS4 is not a system seller!!HaloJim79
NPD doesn't get data from Wal-Mart so I am not sure how much of a difference it will make. This actually a bad thing considering most of the bundles sold were sold by Wal-Mart.
Huge because of the $100 off sale. I have a friend who was looking for it at walmart. he called 7 walmarts ( I didn't know we had that many around here) and they were all sold out. He checked all best buys as well. PS3s sold out everywhere. And I live in a retail heavy area. There are TONS of places to buy games it's odd to see something so hard to find around here (save for the wii)NPD doesn't get data from Wal-Mart so I am not sure how much of a difference it will make. This actually a bad thing considering most of the bundles sold were sold by Wal-Mart.

""combined with the $100 Playstation 3 giftcard offer at retailer Walmart resulted in a 180% increase of Playstation 3 hardware sales. ""
hmmm oh and the sony style credit card 100 dollar off ps3 combined so 200-300 dollar ps3?
Its stuff like this that makes me doubt VGcharts even more. Seems unrealistic that some small website could get sales information for a game worldwide in 2 days.. stores wouldn't even report things like this on a daily basis to them. (if they do at all). Does that mean if I rung up my local gamestore and asked them how much MGS4 (or any other game) sold on day one, they would tell me?user_nat
I too am a little suspect aswell. No other source is reporting these numbers but some how vgcharts seems to have the insider info. I am guessing these are estimates at best. One thing I would like to point out though is why Sony shipped so few 80gb systems. People have been waiting for this system and game for months and they only ship 70k units?
