I was an snes owner, but i must say, Genesis owned it. Aladin was better on Genesis, and so was Mortal Kombat (because it allowed blood of course.)

Genesis was pathetic in comparison to SNES. I seriously can count on one hand the number of games I actually liked on Genesis, but SNES had so many more superior and long-winded games, as well as better graphics and certainly better sound. Oh, and using Mortal Kombat as an example as to why Genesis was better is stupid. I'd rather have more accurate visuals and voiceovers in the game than just having the luxory of gore.

Voice overs or gore... gore is better. Nintendo is too kiddy for gore.
And the Genesis had its share of amazing games, too.

The visuals and sound go to the SNES, but the gameplay for Mortal Kombat 1 was Genesis all the way. This was not the case with the sequels though. I loved both systems, I think I played more Genesis because of the NHL series which was superior on Genesis, but I loved my SNES as well.

OMG Gore is 5o cool and it mak3 you mature!
Gimme a break. The gore in Mk is exaggerated and doesn't neccessarily make the game "better". Unless of course you're one of those pre-pubescent kids who think they're baddass to all of their much older 14 year old friends for playing games like GTA.Â
[QUOTE="Tristam22"]Where do people come off saying that Genesis was more powerful than SNES? Did they fool you with that "Blast Processing" nonsense too? PikaPichu
Â
It did. But the processor in the Sega Genesis was just a generic Motorola 68000. And let's not forget the fact that the Genesis had an awful color palette when compared to what the SNES could do. Genesis could do 64 colors on screen, SNES could do 512. Now, certain Sega CD titles were able to squeeze out more colors (Eternal Champions) but it's the Sega CD.

Yeah. I think they got along fine with the limited color. The one game I remember where it did have a negative impact was Mortal Kombat 3. The Genesis's lower color palette really showed in side-by-side screen comparisons.[QUOTE="AHUGECAT"][QUOTE="BobbyBobby85"][QUOTE="pxr242"]I was an snes owner, but i must say, Genesis owned it. I'd rather think I am a "baddass" than be a kid who's scared of a little fake gore.
Anyone who doesn't believe the Mega Drive wasn't faster clearly is living in ignorance. On the Mega Drive all SHMUPS had a speed change by default, that was't possible on the SNES all them were slow as molasses, just look at Contra III, it feels like they're running underwater compared to Hardcorps.Panzer_ZweiPerhaps "Blast Processing" wasn't the best example (although it remains a marketing buzzword), because I didn't mean to equate power with a speed advantage. I'd love to see the Genesis reproduce Donkey Kong Country 3 or Killer Instinct. The Super NES is the more powerful console.
