So Aion goes free-to-play today

is this really worth playing now? i don't know if it's worth an install even as a f2p game; i've only heard bad things about it. a lot of my WoW guild left when it came out, and came back a few weeks later saying it was garbage.

Aren´t they just droping the monthly fees? Don´t you still have to buy the game anyway?

I've been in this game since launch, dont know why they're going free to play, well its more like an exteneded demo... unlimited access lvl 1-60, then I guess u need a sub to go beyond but still, they are releasing there 3.0 expansion which is supposed to be massive at the same time as the free to play to start.

If it's F2P, it's probably not worth it.

Only game to prove me wrong is TF2, but I bought that. And League of Legends

out of the few MMOs i've played (WOW, Rift, and Aion) Aion is the only one I kept coming back to. i do enjoy it and I hope this FTP will expand the people who start playing, but yes that being said it does have a lot of grinding and IMHO the game doesn't really start till level 10.

It's pretty tame compared to the other Asian MMO's released at it's time. Compared to some of the newer ones it's probably still pretty grindy though. It did only take 2 weeks for the first level 50 when the game launched.

Now waiting on The Old Republic to become Free-2-Play :twisted:
