....saying that the PS3 is much more powerful than a high end gaming PC? It's annoying, and it's not hard to merely observe how wrong you people are. Thanks.

Well, if your talking about raw processing power and bandwidth, then yes the PS3 is not on par with a high end PC. High end PC CPUs and GPUs have somewhere around 10x the overall processing power (CPU and GPU) of the PS3 or the 360. However, you have to admit, 360 and PS3 games look better than almost all PC games available right now. Even HL2 and FEAR run/ will run better on consoles than they would on most PCs. The "super computer" aspects of the PS3 are all solely directed tword the Cell as it's design is something Intel and AMD don't have on their roadmaps for the better part of a decade.

There's alot of power in high end PCs but there's alot of waste too. I think it'll be about 2 years before PC games have to be scaled back to run on the consoles.

Only idiots would say this. The moment a console is manufactured and shipped out, the PC already has something new and better either available or close to available. A console is basically a specially designed computer that you cant upgrade. That will never be as powerful as a well built home PC that you can upgrade. I still like consoles more but that is the truth as I see it.

It has alot less RAM(Than a normal gaming computer, which on average is 2 gigs), which hampers it. The Cell processor COULD be insane, but it somehow hampers itself...I don't know if this what intentional to keep the price down, or was a design flaw, but after reading all the hype on Cell, you would think it would hold a massive advantage over the 360 at least. I was watching a friend play some games with his new GTS, and he literally tore the games apart. Dark Messiah? Highest res his monitor could support, everything else on max, and antriscopic filtering at 8x. The game didn't stutter or glitch once. Load times were more or less instant. I have yet to see the PS3 (or 360 for that matter) offer quick loading times on most games. I mean, PS3 can't run MS above 30fps. Sorry I don't go into the technical nitty-gritty of all this, but from what I've seen, there's no reason yet that people should call a PS3 better than a gaming computer.

I prefer consoles over pcs.  Just last year I bought a new pc, got a nice graphics card (nvidia 7600) and an extra 1 gig of ram.  Everything was good for a few months until it freakin broke on me.  I just had a really bad experience with pc gaming.

I like consoles more in the aspect you don't have to install, patch, etc. You don't get random crashes, but the games just aren't as good looking, or smooth as they would be on a PC.

You are right. THey are two different animals. A console is not running any OS extras to slow it down, so it doesnt need as much as a pc. I like the convience of a console because I dont have to worry about updating hardware, configurations, etc. like you do with PC games. Playing network games on a PC you can easily be outclassed because someone has a faster pc, more memory, better Graphics card, etc. It became too much of a pain

lol, When did reality have anything to do with SW? Here opinion = fact, MGS4 will be out for 360 in the fall, Halo sucks, the Wii is a flop, PC gaming is too expensive and all reviewers are paid off by M$, Sony, and the mafia.

I don't doubt that MGS4 will come to 360, Halo is great, Wii is awesome, and....yeah. I see your point. :D

Oh i dont know. You can always build a pc that out performs. But the pc may have much more luggage due to the OS it has to run from, virus checkers, etc. My point was it became such a pain to get the most out of PC games because either your configuring/tweaking and/or upgrading memeory, graphic cards, etc.

Agreed / That house of cards has been destroyed; just start accepting the fact Sony over hyped and under delivered. Still could be good - but not super computer good !!
