So do you think FFXIV will eventually release on x360?

PAST: The engine demo (seen here) was first revealed when SE annouced support for the 360 followed by the release of FFXI. They claimed that they would of released FFXI for the Xbox1 if the HDD was larger.

PRESENT: Tretton (Sony exec) says its a PS3 exclusive after revealing the trailer. Although its also coming out for PC - a platform preceived as compatible with 360 hardware.

FUTURE: So considering the circumstances, do you think FFXIV will release on 360?

I personally, could see a 360 version in 2011. . .

- on a side note, I've played FFXI on PS2 for 1 year and PC for 3 years. I hate console MMO players. If you are remotely interested in this game, get the PC version. . .

If FFXIII is on the 360, I don't see why XIV wouldn't be.

It's an MMORPG, so the wider the audience, the better for Square.

The reason it's a sony exclusive right now might be because XI, their first mmorpg, wasn't really successful on the 360, was it?

xbox 360 users are already paying a fee to use live.
are they willing to pay... another fee just to play an MMORPG?
this is the fundamental question that square enix is asking themselves.

FF14 is an MMORPG, so it won't look anywhere near as good as FF13. The 360's power won't be a problem.

I don't care if it does. I'm more concerned about a monthly fee. I highly doubt it will be free, but I'm still holding out hope. That's the only way I buy the game is if there is no monthly fee.

Very possible. The thing with MMOs on X360 is that (im just assuming here, never bought an MMO for X360) you would have to pay for XBL AND the monthly fee of the MMO on top, and that might put some people off. But If FFXIV seems popular enough, I think we could expect and X360 version real soon. Im guessing the only reason SE went with PS3 is because FFXI did exceptionally well on PS2. I hope it comes to X360 though, we need all the players we can get in an MMO :DII_Seraphim_II

ONE does not have to pay for gold to play mmo's one can play mmo's with free silver.

Is that confirmed or are you just guessing? I'm not doubting you, but I'd rather just found out now that it is not free so I can stop worrying about this game.

as for the 360 version of the game not selling well we have no info on this, someone in a past thread tried to make out there were platform specific stats for ps2, pc, and 360 users in the vanadiel census but i went through vanadiel census 1-8 and none of them mentioned platform specific stats so we dont know how many sales the game got or users on 360.

Not because I'm a fanboy or anything, but I'd just hate to see all the bragging about it.

Oh and i should add you never mentioned graphics in your first post you mentioned the 360 held it back from what its capable of, hakana stated the 360 and ps3 are equal....ect so yes at no point were graphics mentioned.

He didn't say console exclusive, he said "Only console you will be able to play it on in 2010" So it could be released for xbox 360 in 2011

It's depressing news regardless of the system(s) it's on... :(

no one said it was an exclusive, just that on launch you can only play it on ps3. IMO a stupid idea for both parties. PC gamers are where the mmo-ers are at. It's not going to sell ps3's, and being on the ps3 isn't going to do that game any favors. For the question though, it might, it might not. Do people really care? How hard will it be to run that game on PC? How many people would actually rather play that game than one of the plethora of other mmo's, particularly blade and soul which looks much prettier.

Hell yeah. Simply enough, XI andXIII are on 360. If XIII generates enough sales, thenXIV is a shoe-in.
