So for a game to be good it must have bad graphics?

Sheep claim that Wii has superior gameplay because developers don't focus on the graphics...but on the gameplay. Well that's only true for Nintendo teams, other don't care either way...and that's why 90% of Wii titles are Showelvare.

When a game is announced for the PS3/360/PC and shows off graphics and gameplay, sheep seem to dismiss it saying "omg graphics whores blah blah blah".

I guess you can't have both...u are either cheap...and enjoy showelvare...or your classy and enjoy the best....if you're neither you probably own a 360 or PS3...that way you can be middle class.

Lair, army of two, haze wiil suck and haved sucked. Yet they have better tech. graphics than anything on the wii.

the thing is that a forum like this has a screenshot bias. There is no way to know the gameplay. You can read descriptions and previews, but that's like reading a description of a screenshot. So, it's like the games that look good in screenshots have an unfair advantage in this forum. It immediately puts the wii at a disadvantage because you can't really communicate the appeal of motion sensing elements in an equal way

I'm feeling a PSone phase of gaming coming on because I was looking at my old collection of games. I'm gonna play Symphony of the Night, Medievil, Tomb Raider III, and a few others during the upcoming days when I don't want to play Assassin's Creed or UT3.

A game doesn't need great graphics to be good because I love those games that I have listed. But that is really the only way to fight games here on SW because which has the better gameplay/music/story is all opinion.

But with all the "these graphics suck" posts I see here, it makes me wonder how those people ever got through the PSone/N64 days of gaming.

Actually PS3 is upper middle class, 360 is entire spectrum of middle class, and Wii is everything.

Except it's not appealing to people who want a smug sense of superiority. Like me.

Yup, that's how it is.

Lems brag about flops on the PS3 and taking the PS3's exclusives.

Cows brag about their unreleased exclusives.

Hermits brag about graphics. I mean, they have to. Paying more than the rest of the fanboys for their systems has to have some reason behind it.

Thought I'd clear some things up.

Sheep all agree that graphics are not the central point of the game... not that good games must have bad graphics.

As somebody above already said, this is a very, very big difference.

Remember the article in early 2007 that said the developers are "flocking" to the Wii an dleaving Xbox 360 and PS3 behind.

But anyways, to the topic, I have found that devs who give a game good graphics give it good play, but that is not always the case, R* used to SUCK at graphics(This gen they seem to be getting better) but had good gameplay in my opinion, where as some other games looked nice but played bad. But generally, I've found games that look good, to play good too, like MGS, Splinter Cell, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc. Mostly because if you higher a good graphics artist, you'll probably higher good programmers and designers too. Yes, this post contains numerous run-ons.

hasen't smg proved to you people that its not the wiis fault and the shovelware is to blame, compare the wii using games such as super mario galaxy instead of ninjabread man. you use halo and rachet don't you, why should that change for us, the final movie in smg had 360 level of graficsdarkspineslayer

Oaky, so you can point to Lair and Army of Two. Great. What about Uncharted, Bioshock, Oblivion, MGS, and all of the big titles that have both graphics and great gameplay? You just leave those out of the equation so your point is more valid?

If you take off your fanboy googles for a second, I think it's important to note that Sheep doen't say you can't have both Graphics and Gameplay.

Sheep say that develpers, are focusing too much on graphics this gen, and not enough on gameplay. There is a diffrence between what you said and what Sheep have been saying.

Most games so far have been graphical upgrades with very few real upgrades to gameplay. Of course this isn't true of every game. But there are some amazing examples... Lair... being the best ever...
