now I know why Capcom, Ubisoft, EA, Lucasarts and many other devs are choosing to make their serious projects on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Even Steven Spielberg chose to make a bigger and better game on those systems. The Wii gets Blocka Blocka Wocko or something like that.

As for new IPs, Nintendo has Disaster coming this year, as well as newer franchises like Animal Crossing and a project on an old cIassic franchise. Choose to ignore them.. that's fine :roll: Not to mention theres lots of new interesting games coming through from 3rd parties such as Boom Blox, Deadly Creatures etc.

By posting that (notice you didnt resist when they posted those threads over and over and over) they are trying to send - er -CRAM - an unwanted message down the throats of lemmings and cows that Wii is superior in absolutely every way and that the contest is over and nobody should even bother buying Xbox 360 and PS3 anymore. Give money straight to Nintendo. All games are best on Nintendo.....

Well, I've come in, that grit of sand in those delusional sheep eyes, and I've unsettled their world. After 30 SSBB threads someone comes around and brings them back down to reality. The Wii is not some heavenly device but is a real system with real handicaps -- some permanent. Oh I'll admit it has some pluses like all systems, but I prefer a realistic view rather than some ghastly exaggeration.

You think my threads are repetitive and the same. I think I come here to get my hands dirty and reverse some arrogance. After a long line of pro-Wii threads you got spooked by a sudden big defender in the crowd! I go on into the sunset and the Wii has not moved one inch above what I thought of it, and neither have my favorite systems fallen below. SSBB thread spam did nothing for ya.

I think that Wii fans deserve some bragging rights as far as the Brawl score and Mario Galaxy game of the year award goes. Of course I really doubt that Wii fans would be rubbing this stuff into everyone's face if those same people who complain of all the Wii fans bragging weren't constantly bashing the Wii. You are just going to esculate the Wii braggers with this thread man. Especially when the next two or three AAA exclusives for the Wii come along. You are just going to hear more and more by saying things like that.

I do own a Wii and I have to agree with you that the Wii is just a gaming console with a side dish of innovation (or call it a gimmick if you like). I don't discourage people to not consider the 360 or PS3 however. I am a happy new owner of a 360 in fact. I say go with what fits you the best. And personally I still prefer my first party Nintendo titles over anything else. And Wii is the only console home console I can get those titles. This coming from a guy that has owned pretty much every console since the NES along with just about every AAA title for each of those consoles. Wii's strength like the Gamecube's strength is Nintendo themselves. I believe that perhaps us Nintendo fans would just like to see some appreciation or respect toward Nintendo. When Nintendo is constantly getting bashed it's hard not to try and draw out a response from Nintendo haters. It's fun just to see what they have to say. And you're providing some fun.

The Wii sells well because it does have a lot of fun games to play, I don't get how Phoebusflows can't see that. I guess he has those HD goggles glued onto his head. The Wii is actually something to show off to friends and family what gaming is capable of. My grandma could care less about how good Metal Gear 4 or Bioshock looks. But she does enjoy improving her age on the Wii fitness test, and she also enjoys doing some Wii bowling as well (as well as my mom). And you should actually learn to appreciate the fantastic art direction that many of Nintendo's games wear. Don't you get tired of looking at dark, bland, depressing games all the time? The 360 and PS3 could really benefit from a game such as Mario Galaxy in terms of art direction. And Wii does have some fantastic looking games. Galaxy in particular. If you go and play that game and come back to tell me it's ugly looking, you are telling a bald face lie and you lose all credibility. You then become another "sheep", "cow" or whatever.

The_Deepblue, there is one unfortunate thing. If I made 10 threads or 0 threads, the sheep would've gone crazy anyways. I lurked for one week and saw it get crazy here anyways. I saw it get crazy over Twilight Princess 8.8 score. I remember it getting absolutely murderous over Mario Kart's 7.9 IGN score. You can't deal with these people on a balanced level if they start off mentally off-kilter with tendencies toward exaggeration. So with every action I must supply an equal and opposite one in return or they'll just multiply and multiply.

But I think the forums are definitely operating under a different set of rules than real life. Because we have nothing physical but only see words and pics, we all have to be a little more amplified to get heard. I could just say "I like Xbox 360" and nobody would care or read the post.

People keep getting drawn back to these forums, but why? For a little "fun" and "entertainment" and (very rarely) "education/information." And the only way to get the first two is to add a little "hyah!" to the posts. There are 20 other forums I dont go to. The 3-4 I return to have something interesting for me to read or -- I feel -- I have something provocative to add. People are free to disagree and I disagree with many. But I won't go out without some tongue wagging thrown in to liven things up.

Plus, I feel some people here have been allowed to roam the countryside with so much hot arrogance it almost bothers me to see such unchecked muscle-flexing in my face. Just as it's occasionally fun to poke fun at celebrities and their empty glamour, it's just fun to poke fun at empty egos -- yes even video game egos. I'm sure some think I have this ego (let them think it, I dont care), but it's fun to say it back to some of them! ;)

If you really want to measure accomplishment, then the only perspectives on your behavior that matter are the readers' perspectives, i.e. the ones who you say "think your threads are repetitive and the same," not your inflated sense of self-importance.

Spooked? No. Annoyed to all hell? Yes.

Just change your username or something. If you really want to "reverse some arrogance," you're not doing anything as PhoebusFlows anymore. Even lemmings and cows don't bother to come support you anymore once they see your name on the "Posted by" column.

But I think the forums are definitely operating under a different set of rules than real life. Because we have nothing physical but only see words and pics, we all have to be a little more amplified to get heard. I could just say "I like Xbox 360" and nobody would care or read the post.

People keep getting drawn back to these forums, but why? For a little "fun" and "entertainment" and (very rarely) "education/information." And the only way to get the first two is to add a little "hyah!" to the posts. There are 20 other forums I dont go to. The 3-4 I return to have something interesting for me to read or -- I feel -- I have something provocative to add. People are free to disagree and I disagree with many. But I won't go out without some tongue wagging thrown in to liven things up.

Plus, I feel some people here have been allowed to roam the countryside with so much hot arrogance it almost bothers me to see such unchecked muscle-flexing in my face. Just as it's occasionally fun to poke fun at celebrities and their empty glamour, it's just fun to poke fun at empty egos -- yes even video game egos. I'm sure some think I have this ego (let them think it, I dont care), but it's fun to say it back to some of them! ;)
