i just got my ps3...as u can tell in my sig, i was about to get the modern warfare collection and black ops for ps3 because i have friends thats wont touch a 360 and vice versa, i haven't ran into any hackers on medal of honor, but then again no one likes that game from my understanding.......i've played 2k11 online....havent seen anything, is this only a cod thing, or is alot of games being destroyed online during the hackers? it bothers me, but not so much because most of my friends have 360, but...the ones that have ps3...its like some type of religious thing almost, they just bash the 360 so hard....so its no hope on trying to even get them to buy a 99 dollar used one.lol

i think its only a cod thing..i havnt experienced any hackers on the ps3 except for mw2.. which i played earlier today to see how bad it is..i played 1 game without hackers and 1 with them... black ops is alright...so far but the past cods are hacked from my understanding.

know what, they shouldnt restrict the players.

when i was still a PC gamer, and i played Counter-Strike for years both online and LAN.

the thing is that the host of the game can set gravity to any value, can set cheats to on, can change the movement speed, heck can even set so the bullets are slow. that's why alot of people play CS back then because it's not bounded. devs should let the players or hosts set some values for some stuff so that somehow gameplay changes. kekekeke.

Nope. Good server admins on PC games tend to ban hackers fairly quickly, so they're never much of a problem.

You must not have played much otherwise you would have ran into wall hacks and aim bots. It's also fun to get a kill streak by luck and then get banned from a great server because the op thinks you are cheating. I've had too many pc games ruined by cheaters. I haven't played CS in a while but I quit because of cheaters.

That's just from my personal experience, at least. Then again, I only ever play on a handful of really good casual servers...

For the moment I can honestly say they haven't. I only play Bad Company 2 and FIFA11 online though, still haven't encountered any hacks that I'm aware of.

the only hack that i saw in CoD for the PS3 are speed movements.

or are there others?

it's more like cheating than hacking, though.

but yeah, if there are aim bots or whatever, that's just stupid and should be banned. :)

but for something like fast movement speeds, or as i've listed, zero gravity, slow bullets, etc. those things should be adjustable.

i had so much fun with my friends in CS with slow bullets. lol at the machine gun firing 100 bullets+ at slow mo.

The jailbreak led to a whole new crop of hacks. Hackers can now erase your stats.

Oh right never a problem because there is always an op around.

Most good servers have multiple administrators, so yeah. If not:

-Take note of the player's ID.

-Record a demo of the player cheating (most PC games have this functionality.)

-E-Mail both of these things to a server administrator, along with the times at which the player was cheating. Those who run good servers will look up the player's GUID+IP and place a ban when proper evidence is provided.

I like how console gamers act like seeing a cheater is a common occurence in PC gaming. It's really not.

From my experience, it has only been on MW2. Black Ops is still hack free, and so is every other online game I play bar MW2,

I've only had one problem. Years ago, during the original xbox, there was a modem glitch that people could use on Halo 2. That was really the only time I ever had an issue.
