So how can Sony and Ninty outdue MS?

I think it goes without saying that MS had a great showing... due to the last 5 minutes (for the ps3 fanboys- it is a new trailer so check it out). They showed off more of games we already new and a bunch of casual crap. And then there's the **** of new features for XBL including XNA community game sharing which should be sweet.

So what do you guys think it'll do to outdue MS? Sure, they didn't show that much, but I think it goes without saying that FF13 mutliplatform is HUGE. And also MS didn't show off everything there- we got gameplay from many other things and new features were revealed on xbox.com and inside xbox.

So what will it take?

Also, you guys might want to take bungie into consideration. Just go to bungie.net quickly (someone please post a link) to see what it is. Obviously a new game. It's going to be on wednesday, obviously so MS gets the first punch and the last.

All ninty has to do is sit their and eat a bag of potatoe chips and it'll be way better than microsofts horrible showing.

sony on the other hand... they'd need to steal gears of war or mass effect or something in order to combat the loss of ff13's exclusivity.

agree, I think most of these people who though MS won did not watch it. Most of it was boring, slow and full of ripoffs.

But I did like the Fallout and RE5 info. Just wished they would have shown us games we did not already know about that we cared about. They spent 5 minutes talking about UNO for crying out loud.

Microsoft's conference was almost as bad as last years, but atleast they are improving some. Still no new IPs showed and the one announcment wasn't gaining an exclusive but having to share one.

Really not that big of a showing.

I'd like to see a clown juggling some wii motes while playing wii bowling at the same time and getting a perfect score for all 4 players for ninty.

I'd like to see a PS3 transform into a robot and play itself and beat MGS4 in 2 hours.

I disagree, MS typically only shows what they are putting out in the near future which I like. I'd rather see walkthroughs of games I'm excited for this year than CGI trailers of games that will get pushed back continuously. They showed off a great lineup packed with quality titles that are all coming out this year and early next year along with the FF13 announcement. Good showing for me.

Sony's best bet now is to do exactly what I just said I don't like...show a trailer of GOW3 to get all the cows excited for a game that probably won't come out for another year and a half. Other than that I suppose other 09 titles like Killzone 2 and Infamous will be demoed. Personally I'm not too excited for what they will be showing for this year, which will probably only include Resistance 2, Socom Confrontation and LBP (the only title that really interests me from Sony this year). I'm hoping we get something from Team ICO, that would make things sit well with me.

Nintendo's best bet is to show the a new Zelda that everyone is hoping for. I think they will spend the conference talking about how fantastic they are though unfortunately...like last year.

Jees, you guys are acting as if Final Fantasy 13 on the 360 is no big deal. This was the best or 2nd (to mgs4) to cows on the ps3. The only game I really want badly that was on the ps3. A

I'd say that 2 HUGE game announcements (ff13 and bungie's new game) is enough to make an awesome e3 showing. Because theres a difference between good games and holy **** games.

All Ninty has to do is show/announce some first party titles with big names and they'll have blown MS' right out of the water. Showing a new DS model or even a tilt peripheral (ie rumor on IGN) would boost that showing even more. And since the history of Ninty's E3's is hinting this one will be great, I'm betting there will be a lot more people impressed.

Sony on the other hand has already taken a blow, pretty large imho. Among any huge games for cows has been the next FF title since the PSX. But then, taking into account MS didn't really announce much new (even FF XIII is multi-plat), it can't be very hard to top...

err... what? Yes, Lips is a Singstar ripoff (and done better because you can use your own music- still not appealing to me though), you're in the movies is similar to the eyetoy games, and yes, avatars a similar to miis. But did you not pay attention to the XBL update? You guys go crazy over small updates but you didn't care about this? They haven't revealed all the features, but they said they would soon- go to majornelson.com.

But isn' it about the games? And seriously, FF13 is just... wowzers. Truthfully the game I was going to buy a Ps3 for.

I dunno but to me, Final Fantasy 13 and Bungie's new game (which is confirmed to be shown on wednesday) is enough for it to be a top notch conference. It's well known that MS never announces everything at once. You know, they could have waited and announced Last Remnant timed exclusive and SO4 exclusive today. And the PAX is coming up. I don't believe Sony is attending (could be wrong though).

for sony to top this they would have to show Kz2 playable demo, lbp, resistance 2, and one major suprise like the exclusive game and maybe show some footage of the gta4 team is making for sony.

Nintendo would have to show off another zelda game and maybe something like a new ip for once.

Both of those would even it out but not completely.

in my opinion ms show wasn't that great overall, they showed too much stuff that I don't care about and I thought was boring, I'm a gamer and games are what wins the shows if you ask me, though the ff13 announcement was huge.

well nintendo has a history of putting on an amazing show i remember last gen when they were in **** up to their eyeballs and they had the best show by putting out Mario, Zelda, and Metroid all on the day.

Sony on the other hand well after that FF announcement its gonna be pretty grim, im sure they will project confidence, but that just wont be the feeling you will get from them or the audience i believe.

I also agree. FFXIII is the only thing people are talking about. Nintendo is probably gonna be the best, because we have no clue what's going to happen. Microsoft had one surprise Nintendo probably has 3 or more BIG surprises.

Nintendo is doing their own thing. They just announced the 1:1 controls for the Wii. All they have to do is say "bundled Zelda" and people will be going crazy. Who knows, with EA getting serious about the Wii and 1:1 controls, maybe the next Harry Potter games won't suck. If you had to cast spells with a 1:1 wand, i'd give it a shot. If only they could add in voice commands...

As far as Sony. I have no clue. $349 PS3? I think Gears 2 will match all their FPS games. After that its just Little Big Planet... which, in all honesty, is coming out on the wrong system. Everything else is multiplats or matched exclusives (ie GT5 and Forza 3). LBP is not going to pull them through. Especially not if Nintendo says something major. If they use the 1:1 to get past the kiddy image or at least have some real deal hardcore games (moderate learning curve or simplicity with a hidden massive depth), they will tighten their grip on their rule of the console wars.

As far as why no new game announcements: E3 is dead. Even developers loved the spectacle. The games were just an excuse to have the loudest craziest booth possible. When you took away that, its like the E3 people forgot that this is the fay and age of the internet. Site like Gamespot and IGN break new games all the time, year round. Nobody really needs E3 to break a game unless they can break it in the "E3" way. But that E3 doesn't exist anymore.

Naw, I'm pretty sure that both Nintendo AND Sony will have more new games & content to announce than MS did. They haven't announced any new games in two E3's!!! At least last E3 we saw the first major glimpses of Halo 3:?.

Bungie has two choices with game releases 1) Put it on 360/PC, or 2) Put it on the DS. Bungie would never make an exclusive game for the Ps3. Its just not going to happen. Thats like saying Retro Studios is makeing an exclusive game for the Xbox 360.
