So how exactly is re4 anymore survival horror then re5?

Bcuz both games have pretty much the same amount of action to make both not survival horror

I haven't played RE5 but what are the horror elements in that game?

Years back people would say anything that gives you too many bullets isn't survival horror. By that rationale neither of them are survival horror.

I have never played all the way through RE4 but it didn't play more survival horror than 5.actually 5 felt like a coop next iteration of 4 to me. I'm sure someone more qualified can articulate it better. I never got the 5 hate.

It isn't, myth created by the dumb "RE5 bad" low IQ crowd.

In reality it wasn't even RE4, the main entry franchise started becoming more action focused with Resident Evil 3.

For me it's the fact RE5 is co-op. Hard to be scared when you are with a friend. The AI partner, now that was scary :P

That being said, I didn't think RE4 was really scary to begin with. It was the least scare RE game at that time, just got less scary with RE5.

I just remember RE4 having a spookier setting most of the time than RE5.

Its action game. and really done well action game.

RE4 R is best third person action game I have played since Max payne 1 (or Mafia 1). its just that good.

still not really a horror game.
