for those who have it?

After reading the review, I feel as though I have already played through it.  I'm a huge Virtue Fighter fan, and have them all, even dating back to the 32x version.  Yuk, but fun for fans nonetheless.:)

It simply looks like a remake of Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, which isn't so bad considering how great a game it is.  The 8.1 rating has a lot to do with the fact that VF5 basically added better graphics.  If it were me writing the review, I'd give it a 9.5, which is what Virtua Fighter means to me.  It has always been a phenominal series, and I look forward to the release on the 360.  I think the added acheivements will give the game a bit more replay value.

I still play the Sega Saturn version of Virtua Fighter 2, because It is one of the best Arcade translations ever!  I love VF.:)

I had the opertunity to buy it today, but I decided to wait a little bit and gather some more opinions first. Is this game fun even if you're not a hardcore fighting fan? The fighters I like are Tekken, Soul Calibur, the Capcom games, and Mortal Kombat. Would I be able to enjoy Virtua Fighter 5?

If VF5 is anything like VF4, the learning curve will be insanely steep. You will walk into the game doing sluggish moves and you'll probably get destroyed by the computer. The game gets fantastic when you finally get the hang of one character that you like, play him/her decently well and have someone to play against that put in the same amount of effort to learn his character.

Don't go into VF5 thinking it's going to be just as pickup and play. If that's what you want, the game will not be for you.
