PC will rule over all consoles in the end? I mean, if they are releasing a game like Crysis THIS year, what will be next? Since Crysis rapes just about every major game for every console in both game play and graphics. The only downside to this is that you will pay more money to update your computer than buying a gaming console. I would expect Crytek to be in the shadows working on such a detailed game like this, but they have shown us more footage and pictures than the developers that are working on games that aren't even close to the level of immersion and graphical capabilities as this. That doesn't make sense to me, but what are your takes on this?M-E-S-S
The standard by which the majority of PC gamers abide...is lower.
MARK MY WORDS.
Crysis will not sell 2 million in 3 months.
While games like Halo 3 and Killzone 2 will smoke it...cuz the standard of console gaming is set in stone...we all have an equal rig...

I don't care about sales, I care about gameplay and graphcis. PC gamers are very loyal to their systems. If Counter-Strike and Unreal Tournament are still played today even though they are very dated that says something. I predict Crysis getting game of the year this year...lol, ya right. Now don't get me wrong Crysis looks incredible, but you Hermits need to realize that you need more than 1 good game to help the PC.ganon546theres starcraft 2 is coming...sometime...
lol, ya right. Now don't get me wrong Crysis looks incredible, but you Hermits need to realize that you need more than 1 good game to help the PC.ganon546We already have a ton of games that help it. World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike, Unreal Tournament, Half Life 2.

It's old but people still play it in professional tournaments. Shows how much replay value PC games have...not saying that only PC gamesare the only ones that have replay value but there are a lot of old as hell games that are still actively played on PCs.

i see you have a crystal ball. yes lets praise a game how it's great when the only thing we seen so far was some cgi trailer and the 1st one didnt really deliever.
Crysis will be good, and i'll buy it when i get my new pc done. But shooting down trees and driving through buildings does not make it the end all be all fps ever created.True, but I like the way Crytek added those kinds of features since it adds to the immersion of the gaame.

Simple... Sony plans have never changed.Phase One:
Sell the console.....not the games.
Phase Two: Sell the games.
Phase Three: Push the format as the gold standard.
Phase Four: Break all the records.
Phase Five: Repeat.
They have done this EVERYTIME. and guess what.....hey have WON EVERYTIME.

Okay...how about Halo 1 had zero online...second one has a record breaking online....so you base everything off the first?[QUOTE="Deactivation"][QUOTE="NextGenNow"]MARK MY WORDS.

eeh, the only point I see for buying a PS3 is for MGS4, Uncharted, and Final Fantasy XIII (whenever the hell that releases). Until I see actual gameplay footage of Killzone 2 I will not put it on the list.[QUOTE="istreakforfood"][QUOTE="NextGenNow"]While games like Halo 3 and Killzone 2 will smoke it...cuz the standard of console gaming is set in stone...we all have an equal rig...

Okay...how about Halo 1 had zero online...second one has a record breaking online....so you base everything off the first? Both were excellent games regardless. Just one had online and the other didnt.Just b/c Crysis has advanced physics and graphics it gets hyped to all hell and back? I have yet to see a gameplay trailer of this game that comes anywhere close to the immersion quality of Half Life 2.Â
So far Crysis strikes me as more of a Doom 3 repeat than a Half life 2 repeat.Â
It just seems like all bells and whistles but no real immersive world and/or story that is really unique or innovative.
It'll take more than superficial looks and falling trees to get me to drop a bunch of money on vista and a new card and more ram. The original Half Life still owns the crap out of shallow eye candy like FEAR adn Doom.

i would understand to anticipate on a game that did well, but that wasnt the case with kz. liberation was a good game, but how can it count when it wasnt same genre game as kz1 and kz2. yes lets hype a game by some trailer we saw. hey its cool you like kz2 and i do hope you enjoy playing it once its out. just your blowing it out of proportion when you say kz2 is going to innovate gaming consoles. no one knows that. at least halo has a rep on delivering, but still dont know how halo 3 will turn out till its out as well.

Seen and read it all. By immersive world I don't mean falling trees and good physics, that all is just bells and whistles if there is no original story and immersive world (the story and meaning of the game's world) in the game.
Doom 3 had amazing looks and physics when it came out, but the story was so bland that it got stale despite looking so good.

Halo 2's story was bland and yet it recieved very good reviews anyway. Why does everyone mention only the falling trees? Thats not even all the things that are included in it. Plus it will have online multiplayer so it actually does have life to it. Just like how Halo 2 is still being played online buy tens of thousands of people.[QUOTE="LegendofYaslint"][QUOTE="M-E-S-S"][QUOTE="LegendofYaslint"]Watch the gameplay vidoes here http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=2509 No real immersive world? Crysis just seems, in terms of story and atmosphere, stale and nothing new. It's too much like far cry and other sci fi shooters. I just have not seen a lot of personality yet.
I still have hopes for the game, I just think most PC fans are getting hyped over graphics, like fanobys always do, and forget that it takes more than good looks. Like the Doom example I keep using.Â
Do you remember the Doom hype on here? It was crazy, yet the game was tired by the end of the game.

then again it was made by the far cry people... Doom 3 was bland, but this looks like it has a better story than it (I hope). Also they are different games made by different developers so they aren't even comparable gameplay wise, graphics wise, or story wise. The atmosphere is immersive enough, how many other games are as realistic as this? The frozen enviroments are incredibly detailed and the jungle enviroments are very large and everything is interactive. Those aren't even all the enviorments in the game.... To Overthrow: yeah it doesn't cover enough genres, RPG's and First person shooters are the main genres. Please Log In to post.
