I'm debating between getting a Wii first, and then a DS later in the summer, or a DS first, and then a Wii later.

I have enough money for the wii as it is, but then the DS always comes to mind.

I already have a 360, so handheld vs. console dosen't make a difference.

Please give me some help.

DS first, much of the Wii's stuff comes out later this year anyway. In the meantime, DS has pokemon.

I'd get the DS. You have a console already, so a DS is the logical choice if you ask me. I love mine. My 360 sat around jealous for a week after I got mine ;)

Get a DS Lite first. It has a great library of games and can be played and enjoyed anywhere.

Wii will be a must own console around August.

Definitely DS now. Huge library of games plus the back catalogue of GBA games. If you go for the Wii here is a list of games I recommend looking into right now. You need to get Elite Beat Agents for the DS.
  • Elebits
  • Excite Truck
  • Godfather: Blackhand Edition
  • Madden 07
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids
  • Sonic and the Secret Rings
  • SSX Blur
  • Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
  • Super Paper Mario
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Tiger Woods 07
  • Tramua Center: Second Opinion
  • WarioWare: Smooth Moves

DS now. it's got a bigger library. Wii will get strong in the later half of the year though.

you should read it a little better. He narrowed it down and asked for advice, he didn't ask for anyone to make the decision for him.

Get a DS first, but be carfeul theres the lite (looks like an ipod, but it was made to look like one) and the orgainal Ds looks like a Nintendo porduct. Also New Super Mario Bros. is awsome on the Ds (and quite hard)

From what I hear, Pokemon for DS improves on all previous titles, and is well worth the money.  Besides that, DS simply has more games right now, if you buy a Wii, you'll mostly have a few great games to pick from until later this year, when Nintendo releases SSB, MP, SMG, MP8...

If you plan on getting both anyway, get a DS first.
