well m$ may be giving you a big middle finger, they are looking in to ways to make it easier for companies to advertise, seriously im paying 50 bucks a year so that m$ can advertise on my 360?

This is incredibly old news, ads have been on the Dashboard sense like forever (well the Blade System), so it was only a matter of time before they came to the NXE.

Wow if thats true that sucks for gold members to be bombarded with ads and pay a $50 fee.

So this could go a couple of ways: either its only for silver users and gold get a pass, its for every user regardless of status, or and this is a LONG stretch this is the first step to getting XBL free. I know, I know it was hard to keep a straight face for that one.

Either way if true enjoy the ads 360 users.

Seriously, is this even something to complain about? I never felt any anger or anything in general towards the ads on there...it's not hard moving up to "My Xbox"...

As long as the advertisements dont conflict with the 360 ability to play retail games, I couldnt care less about them.

You are paying MicroSoft $50 a year (or whatever they charge).

They are also making tons of money off of advertising space that the advertisers know you see.

Well, I disable them on mine. The information board is a nice OPTION. But even if there were ads on PSN I would understand, it is a free service and Sony needs to make money to maintain it somehow. MicroSoft makes somewhere near the Billions in Xbox Live memberships yearly already. Not to mention XBL Points. Do you think they really need that extra ad money? At the very least give an option to disable them.

MS has a team of developers working solely on xlive, adding features, keeping the back-end working so you get all the games' interaction that seems like a given now. They're just recently making millions on their game division, not billions. I'll say something that a lot of Sony fanboys said when Home came with ads rolling, they don't bother me. themyth01

How many XBL accounts are there? About 20 million. Multiplied by $50/year that is half a billion just from subscriptions. Maybe I exaggerated a bit but that is still tons of money that is mostly profit.
