Two units have had faulty USB ports and now the 3rd brand new unit is telling me that there is not enough power available for USB devices when I plug in the GH3 reciever *sigh*.

It's not the reciever as i've used it in another PS3 without problem.

Is this a problem others have come across or am I just the most unlucky PS3 owner in the world? And just to take the real **** out of me i've had a 360 from launch without a sniff of RROD.

How old is your PS3/what model do you have? I'm guessing this could be down to Sony cutting costs on PS3 production by removing USB/flash/Micro SD ports. I'm glad I bought mine at launch now :P

Well I actually have 2, it's the 40gig version that keeps going faulty but the 60gig works fine. I'm guessing it is just cost cutting on Sony's part. How ironic though that i'm one of the few not to have a 360 problem and one of the few to suffer at the hands of Sony.

BTW they are refusing to take this one back and are telling me that it is the reciever and my pads that must be the problem...go figure, they work fine in my other machine :P.

I'm not looking for answers, I just thought SW was appreciate the irony of the working launch 360 and the faulty batch of PS3's.

That charges through the USB ports and doesn't have a removable battery pack or batteries....

Be glad you've not experienced the sheer terror of RROD sir :P As for your PS3 I'm sure there must be a way to replace the USB ports yourself. I'm sure a lot of people are having the same problem and are getting the same "LULZ ITS TEH CONTROLLAS FAULT" response from Sony you got. I think google is your friend in this case :)

Yeah, thought about fixing myself but it's under warranty and don't really see why I should. Oh well, I guess if they don't take it back i'll crack it open and mod the hell out of it instead.....should be interesting :D.

You can hook it up to your PC and charge them that way, as for your problem I think you're easily the unluckiest PS3 owner ever.

Hmm sounds like it could be a faulty guitar. Ever thought of that? I mean come on 3 ps3's and still the same problem, I havent even had any of those problems and I use my ps3 to also charge my controllers and ipods. U should return your guitar and get a new one, that could be the problem.

He said the guitar worked fine on his 60gig PS3 but didn't work on the 40gig. Please read all of the post before posting.

Nah, it works in my 60 gig and I have the problem with the controllers so it is def the PS3.

The real PITA is having to copy my data off each time and reset the new one when it arrives. I honestly just think i'm that unlucky with it.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. It's no biggie because i have the other PS3 and hence i'm fairly relaxed about it all. If this was my only console i'd be spitting feathers by now :P.

Doesnt matter, shouldnt this be a better question asked in ps3 forums? I mean I also had my 360 disk scratch a few of my games on me but I wouldnt make a thread in system wars about that problem, that would be more of something id ask in a 360 forum.

i am sure you can hook it up to your PC TC. I haven't tried it, but hey, it's better than some of the game-related issues of 360.

As I said it was more for people to have a laugh with, i'm not looking for you to solve the problem. Don't you find it ironic that I have the most unreliable and the most reliable consoles and it is the 'reliable' one giving me all of the issues?

Well yeah I do because I havent had any of those problems. It just sounds like your an unlucky ps3 owner with those problems cause I rarely hear anything wrong with the usb ports for the ps3.

Yeah you can. It's only annoying because this is the PS3 for the main room and I have to take my controllers to the games room to charge them. Minor inconvenience really just annoyed the Guitar stuff doesn't run *sigh*.
