So I want to buy a Ps3, but theres one BIG problem...

I want to buy a Ps3 for some of the games that I grew up with (Before I was a lemming I would play Ps1 and Ps2 NONSTOP at my cousins house)

God of War 3 looks particularly awesome. But my friends brother got a Ps3, I played the first part of Uncharted 2, looks like it was going somewhere. I like God of War. GOW3 looks incredible. And thats about it..I hear bad things about Killzone 2. What other games might interest me. I love my xbox360 but I want to branch out, but only a few games really catch my attention. :( Titles like MGS4 and stuff aren't really my cup of tea. And FF10 was the only FF I liked other than this one on Ps1 cant remember. Had a yellow hair dude, big sword lol

I have all the machines, so if a great game comes along like a Gears of War, a Killzone 2, an Uncharted 2, or a Halo...I get to play them.

BTW : KZ2 is great, read some reviews.

Here's a link to KZ2's Metacritic score (an amazing 91/100 Meta score.:|). If you like FPS games...uh, you'll like it.

Forget SW for opinions, I would recommend you go read some reviews in the link above, since it's hard to know who's serious here.;)

You mentioned the Uncharted series, which is great. You mentioned God of War, which is bound to be good. You mentioned Killzone 2; I think Killzone 2 is really a great game, and great showcase of what the PS3 is capable of doing technically. Aside from those, there's:

Infamous (excellent AAA game)

Demon's Souls (you said you're not interest in Final Fantasy, but this might be more up your alley, I'm not sure)

LittleBigPlanet (excellent platforming game, also AAA)

Resistance 2 (not as good as Killzone 2, but still pretty fun; Gamespot calls it an AAA game, but I think of it as more of an AA game)

Motorstorm Pacfic Rift (fun arcade racing game)

3D Dot Heroes (looks like a fun and unique Zelda-style game to come out May 11th, 2010)

Gran Turismo 5 (if you're into simulation racing games, this is going to be one of the two definitive titles in the genre)

Heavy Rain (I'm not sure I can describe this game, but it's creative and interesting, like nothing else on this generation of consoles)

Last Guardian (If you're familiar with Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, you already know this game will be incredible)

MAG (I haven't played it myself, but opinions are all over the place on this one, though it seems to be getting mostly positive)

ModNation Racers (an awesome looking kart game with the same user-created content theory that drives LittleBigPlanet; should be out soon)

After trimming down my PS3 games collection and getting rid of stuff I didn't want to keep for eternity, I still have something like THIRTY-FIVE games on my shelf. I'm sorry they aren't readily apparent to you.

Obvious answer: if you don't like anything but God of War, rent it and rent a PS3. System Wars consists of fanboys who will tell you, alternately, that Killzone 2 is either the worst or the best game ever created, when the real answer lies somewhere in between.

Also, you can't remember Cloud from FFVII, or which Final Fantasy 7 was? :roll: Maybe you aren't the target demographic for System Wars my friend.

i never understood having that many games for 1 system, i think the most games i can actually appreciate for 1 system is maybe 10-12, beyond that and i start forgetting the game even exists and simply start becoming apathetic towards it

atm i own 17 ps3 games and that's after trimming away 6 games and even then i could probably trim my collection down to maybe 7 games i'd be happy only owning

that also frustrates me with XBLA/PSN games, i own 15 PSN games but i only care about maybe 5 of them so the rest are simply registered to my account floating in sony's servers likely never to be played again

i've done the same thing with my 360 and only own 10 games for it, only thing preventing me from selling a few off that i don't really care about owning anymore is bad resale value

Save God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 there are many games to get but there are some to rent (assuming you only want exclusives)

Uncharted Drake's Fortune is a rent because it's just like part 2 but short without a multiplayer

Other than that there are many games I see as must buys

LittleBigPlanet

A must if you have friends game at your house or many siblings

All of the levels you see can be made by yourself

With levels published by players online you can never get bored with this platformer

Killzone 2

Any shooter fan with a ps3 should have this game as (shown by ratings) its the best exclusive shooter on the ps3

IMO still console graphics king
