I have never played any video game in 3D but I feel like I should pick up a 3D TV so that I won't keep feeling like I am not getting the most out of my consoles.

But is 3D gaming really any good?

Also, I have a PS3 and 360 and I know the PS3 has a bunch of 3D stuff, but does the 360 have any 3D games?

Thanks for any input.

i have done 3d on pc and 3ds and it works great for the most part. for a zombie game it really helps u see how far they are from you. For a mario game it helps you see how big the gap is and so on.

No, it sucks. Even on the 3DS, which is awesome, it still sucks.

I think it's pretty good when done right. I don't know about other systems but, to me it seems like the 3d works alot better in slower games.

Those saying it dosn't add anything to gameplay have evidently never played Pilotwings Resort, where it makes a big difference. 3D is probably not going to be the revolution the touch screen was, but it has uses

I haven't played the 3DS, but I have played a few 3d PS3 games. Its a cool effect, but doesn't really add anything significant to the overall experience. I have yet to play a game in which 3d has any true effect on the gameplay. For some it may add to the overall presentation, but that's about it. Certainly not worth spending the big bucks on a 3dtv imo.

Pilotwings Resort 3D is HORRENDOUS. The aliasing practically increases ten-fold and the character in the center looks so awkward. It's just not natural looking, which is my main gripe with all 3D.

It's nice but not game changing in any way. Hell most of the time I have it turned off on my 3ds

Adds just as much as HD does to gaming. It adds depth to games witch makes it more Emerson .

My brother has a 3D tv, but no glasses yet :(

We're looking forward to when he gets them though.

Not at the stage of 3D it barely does anything, not even in movies.

I've tried on PC and PS3, not the 3DS. So far it seemed a little gimmicky, sure it had its moments, but overall not the best experience. Personally I'll stick to 2D until current 3DTVs can overtake the picture quality of my current display.

i have one, and it is so awesome!!! my tv can convert anything to 3d, and the games or movies that say 3d on the cover look insane! In GT5, the words and hud while driving look insane! Also I watched the Uncharted 3 3D trailer and was blown away! The part where nate holds the book, it really pops out at you! I also played motorstorm 3d, but the graphics looked pretty bad. So yes, 3d gaming is really really good, and people who tell you otherwise do not have a 3d tv, or a 3d compatible game or blu ray movie! I cannot wait for R3 and UC3 in 3D!!!! Oh yea and it does add a lot of depth!

It depends on the platform, game, and other hardware used. I liked some of the 3D games on PC and PS3, but the 3DS is the worst 3D i've ever seen and its no wonder that they're not selling. Overall I think it's just a fad that will pass.

The problem with 3d right now is that it's fairly hardware intensive. On the consoles you usually get an fps drop, a resolution drop, and the graphics quality also goes down. On the pc you also have a large performance drop, but the hardware is powerful enough to compensate a bit more. So you end up with a 3d image that you need to wear glasses for, but worse graphic settings and a performance drop. As for the experience itself, it's pretty cool, I'll give it that, but it's just not something crucial. I even tried three monitors with 3d, and it was definitely immersive, but not worth the price tag.

Yeah it does especially on the PC, games show much more detail in 3D. It really does add another layer to the greaphics. But its not cheap, and you need a powerful rig. On the 3DS is not as nice and the 3D depth is not as noticeable.... it works, but its nothing like it is on the PC. Play Trine or RE5 and you will see just how awesome 3D really is.

3D is the only way i play Motorstorm Apocalypse, Crysis 2, COD:BO, Super Stardust HD, Socom 4, Killzone 3, Just Cause 2, Batman AA, and a bunch of other games. I cant wait to play the Ico/Shadow of Colossus upgrades in 3D. I bought two 3d hdtv's for my apartment and we have really enjoyed them.

Same here if option is available. 99% of the time it doesn't get turned off. The 1% being NBA 2k11 because its the only thing that causes me discomfort. And even though I prefer XBox, PS3 does 3D so much better.

3D on the 3DS is great. Really can give a game a whole new level of depth if use right.

I prefer 2D, mainly because of the performance drop. I like to appreciate the graphical details in a game, and it's hard to do with 3D. Further, it just doesn't look, i dunno, right.

Nothing more than a gimmick, much like a lot of the controllers and handhelds that we're seeing right now. It's not supposed to automatically make the experience better, especially if a game isn't very fun. I think that game manufacturers should worry more about the framerate and maintaining extremely good visuals more than 3D gaming, so that no harm is done to the gameplay itself.
