So, is anyone excited by Hitman: Absolution?

Given that I love the Hitman series for its uniqueness and its rather post-modern feel, I am happy to see 47 make a comeback after six and half years on hiatus. Why IO decided to develop crap like Kane and Lynch instead of more Hitman games is a mystery to me, but whatever.

I'm only a little upset that David Bateson isn't coming back to reprise the role of 47 (which is the dumbest thing they ever did, because Bateson is 47), but whatever. Everything else appears to be shaping up rather nicely, and I can't wait until November 20th.

It's been too long. Just too long.

Will be $20 by second month.. games like this always get a massive price drops after launch.. will get for $19.99

I've never played one of the Hitman games, though I admit I do like the stealth genre when it's done well (seriously, I freaking love Thief). One of these days I'll check out Blood Money or something on Steam.PannicAtack

Personally, I liked Contracts the best (it's so moody and dark, and the soundtrack is quite good), followed by both Silent Assassin and Blood Money. But, due to legal issues, Contracts is not on Steam, so you will have to rummage around for a disk copy.

Nah, more interested in X-COM, hitman can wait a bit and if it's anything like deus ex, the price is gonna drop really quickly.

Absolutely. I've been a HUGE Hitman fan since the original and I've been dying for a new one since Blood Money, which I loved. I was skeptical at first when they showed the initial footage, but everything I've seen since then looks amazing. By the way, David Bateson is in fact back as 47. :DXaero_Gravity

Yeah, the game definitely looks interesting. I've been wanting a game like this to come out for some time, but I won't be getting it day 1. It can just as easily turn out to be bad as it can turn out to be good.

Excited?! Of course!! It's only one of my top anticipated games this year and dare I say GOTY contender?

I am but I won't get it day one. I'll probably wait a month and get it half price during the Steam sale

Kane & Lynch are great games in concept, and I think some of that shines through in the finished products, although mechanically the first one is pretty ass and the second one merely plods its way towards being competent. They've got style though. Both with the art direction and tone.

Anyway, I of course haven't seen all the levels yet so I don't know, but I get the impression that it'll be in line with previous installments when it comes to how the levels are structured. There will be some missions where the impetus is to push forward through, like the library level, but the majority will be the usual open-ended experimentation recon type stuff you've come to associate with the series. The Contracts mode is pretty interesting too. In short I expect it'll make a fine Hitman game.

Also Bateson is in.

I'm still waiting for the "leaked" Hitman HD Collection to be announced. Please make it happen IO.

I find it hard to care about other games when Halo 4 is coming out. Its gonna destroy everything until GTA 5 comes out.JohnnyCageMK

No i'm not interested in the game i don't like stealth games and the only games i'm interested in this year are doom 3 bfg edition and far cry 3.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It looks like they're making an attempt to please fans at least, but I still can't tell if the old school levels are a major priority for them or just the devs throwing us a bone before switching gears back to the Batman-esque levels.

I'm hyped for it... not really much to get exited about this year anyways but hitman has always been awesome..

cover makes it more fluent,realistic and less jarring when in motion.

It will look,feel and play a lot more naturally.
