So is Bayonetta a lock for GOTY?

Its certainly looking that way so far. Based on reviews its undoubtedly the strongest exclusive so far early in this gen. Really didn't expect near perfect scores for a hack and slash/ action game like this. Pretty sure the reception for this game is surprising a lot of people.

Actually, it's hard to say. Maybe the rest of the staff won't like the game as much as Mark Walton did. But the 10/10 not earning GOTY would be very weird

Currently , it is a very strong candidate . It CAN win and I won't be surprised but we've Dragon Age and Far Cry 4 to come out later this year . Both of these games will be either great or trash . We'll see .

I'm more interested in Dragon Age , looks awesome and it is a striong contender for GOTY like Origins if all goes well. True :)

Nah I'd say the realistic candidates would be Bayonetta 2, Divinity OS and maybe The Vanishing of Ethan Carter or something idk. Just not Dark Souls 2, and certainly not any of those big budget open world kind of games because critics hate those.

Well, since Destiny got rid of the Glory Hole Loot Cave I'd say Bayonetta 2 is definitely the GOTY now.

Ocarina of Time. Wind Waker. Metroid Prime. Resident Evil 4. Super Mario Galaxy. A Link Between Worlds, this one was last year ffs.

Nope, just because one GS reviewer thought it deserved a 10/10 doesnt mean they all do. It is certainly a contender though.
