so is duke nukem really as bad as big rigs?

i saw the game on sale for like 25....i was gonna get it because i grew up off duke nukem. used to play it all the time on psone. is the game bad in a sense to where it plays like the psone versions? [i wouldnt mind that at all] or is it just simply busted and broken as big rigs?

nah its not as bad, it just feels dated as in last gen dated aswell as feeling disjointed.

I found it fun for 1 playthrough tbh then its got shelved and kept up there.Pretty easy g/trophies if thats your thing aswell.

no DNF was actually pretty fun. There's no way it deserved a 3.0 on here. Someone had their panties in a bunch when they reviewed that game. It's not an 8.0 game, but it should have been at least in the 6s, or 7s.

It's not that it's as bad as big rigs, but the game isn't all it's hyped up to be. I would seriously recommend you watch the video review first before you buy it.topsemag55

It's definitely a functioning game, which puts it thousands of leagues higher than Big Rigs, it's just a rather uninspired one.

I had some fun with Duke, despite the game being rubbish. It has potential, and I'm excited for the next one.

DNF is not a good game but to be compared to big rigs is just pure trolling..

its overall a boring game, but it has some fun moments.

Are you kidding? Have you seen the user reviews for that game! It is truly a master piece.

The game is fun in my opinion, but that is just my opinion. If you play the PC version then there is no technical problems, console versions are fine too except the load times are kinda long and the textures don't load immediately all the time. I have the PS3 version and the frame rate is always fine and I haven't ran into any bugs, the long load times is the only real technical problem except for the textures sometimes, the textures fix themselves within a few seconds though so it isn't a big deal at all. The game is good, however it depends if you would have fun with it or not. The levels are linear, 2 weapon limit (the PC has a patch for this and they are trying to get it out for consoles), occasionally there are some platforming and puzzle sequences in the game, lots of objects to interact with, Duke humor and one liners, regen health, scripted sequences and scenes, slight nudity, and you fight aliens. If that sounds like you would enjoy that stuff, then I'd pick it up. And if you liked the old 3D duke games then you'll probably like this as long as the main reason you didn't like it was for the health packs, and the multiple paths to take, because other than those things missing this does feel like a Duke game for the most part.

Yes it is considering how long it has been in development. I could list a ton of problems with this game but I will list the most glaring.

- There are missions with no action at all.. seriously...

- The "puzzles" are just unnecessary

- The visuals are absolute trash, it seems the only part of the game that may have had any sort of overhaul was the first 5mins.

- The animations are trash

- The humour isn't good.

- The level design is poor as well as the boss battles.

- The gunplay is really poor, it's not the worst there is but it's pretty awful.

- It costs 60 dollars.

Seriously, I like gearbox and all but DNF @ 60 dollars was simply one of the lowest moves this gen and really made me lose a bit of respect for them. However borderlands 2 will be awesome!

The monster in the demo is the best looking thing in the entire game lol. I think the purposely upped the detail on that one thing to make us think it would look good.

You should try some of the visual fixes for the PC version. The monster in the beginning isn't the best looking thing in the game and some parts can actually look pretty good for such an old engine.
