So is it safe to say that 2008 wasnt the year of the PS3?

Im saying it right now, 2008 is the year of ......... What do you guys think? Explain and be polite.

2008 was the year the Wii finally thrust ahead of the 360 in console sales. So economically it was certainly the Wii, with Wii Fit and Wii Play consistently topping the charts.

In terms of games, PC > 360 > PS3 > Wii

It was no one's year.

In games I would call a tie between 360 & PS3 - Gears, Fable, Banjo on one side, LBP, MGS & RFoM on the other. Then both with Fallout, Burnout, Civ Rev, GTA, etc

The year of great games across all platforms.

It was no systems year, no system in particular that is. SOme could argue for the ps3, others for the 360 or pc, and others yet for the ds. Every system(even the wii and psp which recieved far less support) had some stellar games that justified said system.

If you're stuck on singling out a system, it's a close race between the pc/360/ps3 alongside the ds. Anyone without a DS and at least one of pc/360/ps3 is seriously missing out on the best this year had to give us.. but really, those without every single system are missing out for that matter.

Year of the ps3 is a funny meme that is more associated with great games over just sales and that is what most gamers like to focus on. And it twas a great year for the triple indeed. I don't think it beat the PC , but it beat the other consoles in my opinon (looking at general review scores for exclusives).

So I guess it's OK for lemmings to own 2007 with the 360 cuz of its games here in GS and NOT with PS3 for 2008??

Remember, PS3 outsold the 360 in 2007 with nearly a million but the 360 was still considered the winner.

well unlike you, i don't blindly follow only one review source just because it favors my console of choice.you're saying i shouldn't be on gs because i use gamerankings for reference, like a normal gamer would? you fanboys really amaze me
