Post after post and thread after thread Wii-loveboys refuse to acknowledge that sales =/= quality.
FragTycoon
whether or not sales== or =/= quality has nothing to do with the topic at hand. there would be no reason for anybody to acknolowledge that here. the topic starter specifically wrote the following: "Arguments on games, online, hardware, whatever aside." this thread is about sales. stick to the topic at hand.
No one is disputing sales.
What people are disputing is what those sale numbers actually represent.

uhm...okaay.
I personally don't feel that the Wii sells allot because its a paradigm of gaming architecture. I feel it's a success due to to a brilliant marketing campaign, price and a uninformed and/or inexperienced public. Now that's not to say that there aren't games for a more "hardcore base", but I find those titles to be far to sparse. That happens to be why I have the opinion that Wii's sales are volatile and could possibly change at any time.

so you believe that the wii sales will eventually die down and that the PS3/360 will catch up (i took this from your following statement: "Chances Nintendo will saturate the market with a few mil more units then enter a lull wile others will establish a firm foothold")
i believe that the wii has been built from the ground up to have mainstream appeal that the PS3/360 lack. it is successfull due to it's innovative user interface. for that reason it will continue to sell the most by a wide margin.
we'll see who's right a year or two from now.
