If you say that you hate the super smash bros. series, truth is that you've never played it before, or your terrible at it. Theres no possible reason in the universe to hate this game. This game is probably the best fighting game I've ever played. Its a shame people didnt like the gamecube. Brawl online doesnt even matter, its the multiplayer that I care about.

The same is true for Halo, if you say you hate it, we automatically know you've never played the game before or you have for 5 minutes and are also bad at it. Sure, people say its overrated, but again, they havent played halo 3. I dont care about the graphics, heck, I still play Combat Evolved. Its about the multiplayer, doesnt even have to be online. Its fun.

No one can say that they hate either franchises without having a bias or lack of money

I agree that a lot of people bash things they've never played, but I also say people bash something based on reviews, i.e. Lair.

Lair was not a great game, but it was pretty fun. The controls could've been better, but they were not unusable. I've never played Smash Bros. but it looks really kiddy to me, but I've heard a lot of people that like, so I would be will to play it for myself to find out. Halo CE (as you mentioned you still play) was an awesome game. In my eyes, they had a more or less, perfect game, and then tried to make something new and failed. They didn't in success or fans obviously, but for me, I hate playing the 2 and 3. 2 is very similar to 3 which is a great thing if you were a fan of 2, but I wish they would've done this with CE instead.

I love the SSB series... I've logged so many hundreds of hours into each game it's ridiculous. Same deal for Halo - my two most played games of last gen (well, barring Civ IV).

That being said, I can easily see how someone may not like either based on reasons other than skill or simply not playing it. The games aren't for everyone, and the whole "just force yourself to play it until you like it - if you quit too early, you just suck at it" thing isn't the best way to prove that a game is wonderful.

some ppl dont like fighting games or fps.. and if brawl doesnt have online no1 should buy it..teach nintendo to get with the program.online adds depth to these kinds of game for when no friends are around u can just go online and battle some other bored kid. or if ur friends move uot of ur city or state with online u can still game with him. nintendo has its loyal sheep by the short hairs if this game comes out with no online and they flock to buy it up...

i really think it is based on opinion. you cant really compare super smash to say, DoA or Soul Caliber because they are so different. super smash is more free in terms of movement and therefore strategies are way different. you can run around and stuff while soul caliber is more like one on one im next to you arcade fighting where it's all fight then counter then fight. of course the only fighting game i own is super smash cause that's the ony fighting game i like, but i can actually see why people like or dislike it just as i dont really like other more traditional fighters.

Sorry If you are a true fighing game fan whos played them since the first fighing game kung fu on atari then you'd konw that most of them don't even consider smash a fighting game at all. It's a party game. Power Stone on DCdid it before and nintendo just copied it and decided to use nintendo characters to make it popular. It kills me when someone talks about smash and how it's teh best fighting game blah blah when they aren't even real fighting gamers themselves.

Answer me this, did you ever own a neo-geo or a sega saturn with the 8 meg ram cart to improt japanese games? If the answer is no then you have no business talking about the best fighting anything becaue it's obvious you don't even know what they are.

As far as Halo goes...it was a cool game, nothing mind blowing. However Halo 2 mede me decide to get a PS2 because I couldn't see myself waiting 2 or 3 more years to get a hyped game with standards as low as this.

Um no your logic is wrong. Every person has a different taste maybe most of the people like it but there are also people like me that don't. Its the same thing like saying "i like cake so everyone must like cake if not they all suck" this way of thinking is not good. And also i don't think that its the best fighting game, in my opinion the best fighting game is street fighter 3 for 2d fighters and tekken for 3d fighters.

If it was on 360 then there'd be no reason to get a wii and ruin your impression of this game with stand-still graphical advancements.

I played the halo 3 beta and it was so easy. It was my first time playing the game and I lead in kills. It was not fun, IMO. But according to your logic if you don't like a game it's because you have never played it and/or suck at it.

I've played plenty of Halo. I'm just in the camp that the series went south after CE, I don't care how many features are in the multiplayer of 3. I'm a campaign man.

The orginal Smash Bros was fun like most of mario spinoffs.

Then the concept gets boring/lame

I loved the first one, played it for hundreds of hours. Played the second at a friends for a bit and it wasnt nearly as fun. Most likely wont play the new one, i dunno if i just grew out of it but i have absolutely no interest in this game anymore.

I played Melee and it was the most dissapointing game I have ever played. Had such big expectations for it and it turned out to be a bore.

I like Halo: CE though. The gameplay was really fun.
