So Let me get this straight, 360 Elite - 80 gig PS3

So people complained about the 360 Elite being $80 more and including a HDD that has 100 gigs more and an HDMI cable.

But Sony annonces a system with only 20 gigs more HDD space with out any HD cables (Component or HDMI) and they lower the cost of the 60 gig system to make it look like a deal and this is ok?

hmm, 60 gb was $600 and is now $500

And on top of that, the 60 GB PS3 was all ready a better deal than the Elite anyway, now it's only $20 more.

And on TOP of that, you get the 5 free BluRay movies promotion! And you get free built in Wifi (but I guess that always been a PS3 advantage)

When its not in favor of the cows its damage control.

I find it generally the same. For $80 more you get 100GB and HDMI out. With the ps3, for $0 more you get 20GB and motorstorm. Early adoptors aren't really owned and it's a pretty good deal for people who haven't bought in yet...

how aren't early adoptors owned? if they waited 7-8 months they would have gotten a free game and more hdd space. it's not like the ps3's first 8 months were really outstanding. most are STILL waiting for killer apps.

Yeah, the 80 gig is as usless as the 20 gig PS3.

Except when Microsoft added the Elite they:

• Didn't make a price cut.
• Added HDMI but an old version (v.2)
• Didn't bundle it with a free game.

And the difference between the Premium and the Elite is greater than the 60GB and 80GB.

No, many might find a good deal. 20GB more (how much does the normal 360 have again?) space and a free game. Would at least add up to a $70 + TAX value. Definitely would help many people who are on the fence about buying the ps3 or not.

The "normal" 360 20 gig is $399, The Elite 120 gig is $479, and The Core is $299. The Core doesn't have a HDD but for some reason it's still selling more than a 60 gig PS3. I think the reason is games and price. Bottom line, price is still the biggest issue for a gaming console. Thats why the Wii is on top while the PS3 is dead last.

BINGO!! Its really not hard. $600/60gb hd no games.

Yes it's okay. And there are rumors now that MS will lower the price of the Elite to $400. Hopefully that'll hold true.
