I think Capcom is going to be a Multiplatform Dev and Publisher, thats why they got rid of Clover because they want more money not loose money. So I believe that Lost Planet will be ported to the PS3 and maybe PC. From what I heard M$ paid tons of cash to Capcom to keep Dead Rising a Exclusive title, maybe it will be a timed exclusive. We all know that almost all of capcom games were ported to the PC.

So what do you think? Will Lost Planet and Dead Rising still be a exclusive?

Capcom has stated that LP and DR are 360 exclusives. Nothing has changed.

I really don't think the PS3 could run those two games without a lot of grunt work from the progammers. They'd be porting it to a system with a pathetic user base. Its probably not a good financial move. Maybe in a year or two. Expect major downgrades. The textures are too much for the PS3 to handle.

Dead Rising would have to be remade to be ported to the PS3, which in essence would be a hugh downgrade because it can't support the number of zombies on screen or certain shaders. Its possible with capcom corporation following a multiplatform stratergy now. Lost Planet would be great only if live and psn players are able to vs each other because the online community for the game is hugh on 360.

Well the difference is that the 360 has a huge user base RIGHT NOW. So, IF (or when...if you prefer) the ps3 gets a user base that can compete with I'd say about ten million (personal guess/estimation) then you might see this happening. They'll just focus on 360 and wii if it's more profitable.

It makes no sense to remake those games just for ps3. they will lose money. I wouldnt doubt that there will be no more exclusives from capcom in the future, however.

Hasn't been announced yet and considering both games are selling great on the 360, why would they move them? DR2 has already been rumored to be a 360 exclusive.

That would be too much work to recode the game for the PS3's hardware, it would take quite a while and really would not be a financial benefit for Capcom. It was easy to recode Resident Evil 4 since the hardware of both consoles were similar and easy to work with, however Lost Planet and Dead Rising were designed for the 360 specifically when they started making the games.

And David Jaffe says that the PS3 can handle and do more then the 360? It's called protecting your own interests and hyping your product. Business 101 Besides, look at it logically. Has any system been tapped into 100% after the first 5 months?

WTF are you talking about? Devs have stated that its easier to port games unto the PS3 rather than the PS2. Pathetic? By this Month the userbase of PS3 will be about 3.5 to 4 million, thats huge. 360 may have a bigger userbase but half of it may be pirating the games.

Why would they sell 10 copies? If they ported the games to the ps3 atm i think they will make alot of money afterall right now all the good games on the ps3 are motorstorm and ressistance. So most of the owners will buy the games for sure.

Dead Rising and Lost Planet both did great numbers for Capcom on 360. I think those franchises will appear on PS3 at some point, but not any time soon. Maybe Dead Rising 2 and Lost Planet 2.

You have a strong point and anyone that belives other wise, you're a fool. Maybe not now, but they will port both titles over once the PS3 has more sales. Capcom has taken a page out of Rockstar's playbook from the GTA franchise.

oh the irony. if i learned anything in the past couple of weeks its that the ps3 can handle a helluva a lot you 360 fanboys say it can't. obviously you didnt see that with launch titles, but for godsakes they were launch titles, and sony hadn't given the dev's enough support. But that's changing now with certain programs like edge. quote me if you want Capcom are the new EA, they'll try to become a helluva a lot bigger and release games on every platform.

ps3 can't do lost planet? please. its as pathetic as the ps3 fanboys who said 360 can't do dmc4.
the only problem i could ever see is that they may have just made lost planet with 360's architecture in mind. But then capcom said that they couldnt port ps3 for that reason. Dmc makes sense multiplatform. even onimusha now. If anyone has played the latest iterations of those games you would notice a real downgrade in the quality of storytelling. It's like capcom have become hollywood, churning out inane actions game after inane action game. i mean what the hell happened to onimusha?

I didn't say ps3 couldn't do lost planet? did i anywhere in my statement? I said it couldn't do dead rising in its current form without being remade, sure i'll admit the same can be implied to lost planet because the architecture of the consoles are completely different and because of that they have to be done differently. If you think a game can simply be re-coded without taking into account hardware differences then sorry for being right. Even PC games have to be re-coded to the specific software of consoles before they are ported, its the way a port works not matter the system. And i agree that capcom is heading towards the way of EA and Ubisoft, but atleast they have better quality titles, and i've seen the playstation edge tools already i'm a software programmer they aren't that fantastic as sony is making them out to be. They are better overall compared to what they had but it hasn't made a deep impact on the difficulty to program for, trust me.

lol sorry dude,  i misread what you wrote. You're entirely right. it's just soooo many damn posts on these boards ending up sounding the same, you don't pay enought time reading.
Making exclusives for the gamer is good for one thing: you get a game that utilizes all the grunt of one console. But then what happens if there's a fanbase on another console that want it?
i honestly wanted Lost planet before, but when i saw the dialog i just thought goddamn...
i'm very much into films and filmmaking so when i see a poor narrative it's hard for me to ignore: *looks at onimusha 3 and devil may cry 3.
i mean wtf dante surfs on zombies at the beginning of the game while eating pizza and shooting
thats not cool, that's just dumb. The cheese factor in onimusha 3 is unforgivable. and onimusha 4 i'll never buy another shinji mikami game

lol sorry dude, i misread what you wrote.

Happens all the time around here, you make intelligent posts that sometimes get misread. Lost Planet singleplayer is average at best man, but multiplayer is gold. Agreed with DMC3 and Onimusha 3, it played them and beat them and never bothered with them again. Its so sad it find games you loved with the originals that can sometimes get goofed up but DMC3 was far better then DMC2 was. Beyond good and evil needs a sequel that game was just platnium in my opinion.
