Probably and also I didn't realise it before until yesterday when I was flicking through Gamerankings, but Uncharted 2 is currently the 5th best game ever according to review averages (over 61 reviews) so yeah Uncharted should probably win shooter of the year not just here but probably almost every other website as well.
people have diff views on what is the best for example for hardcore players - odst for casual - mw2 for graphics - uncharted 2 for rent - l4d2 etc just my opinion
Haven't played it but I would say Uncharted 2, though it has many adventure game qualities yes? If it doen't get put in gamespot's "best shooter" line up, then Left 4 Dead 2.
I'll agree, but, i've never been sicker of shooters then now, where are all the action adventure? survival horrow? rpg? space sims? I mean brutal legend has made me so happy right now its insane, but seriously, too many shooters, WAY TOO MANY SHOOTERS. The only shooter i'll play now is if they took borderland, meshed it with left 4 dead, so now you have a open game like borderland but your trying to survive a zombie apocolypse that woudl be sweet.
Uncharted isn't purely a shooter though so I'm not sure if it will win "shooter of the year". Uncharted is one of my favorite games of all time, but they'll probably give it to pure shooters like Killzone or MW2. My guess would be MW2 because of all the hype, but KZ was amazing so I'm hoping they give it to that.
Borderlands is the best shooter I've played this year.
Uncharted isn't really a true shooter.... but a hell out a great game. Naught Dog outdid themselves. The expectations for Uncharted 3 will be impossible to live up to.

I guess that was a little bit hastey of me seeing as i've probably forgot alot of things earlier this year. Regardless, it still seems a whole lot less than previous years. Particularly on the AA/AAA front.
This year? ODST was really good, though I wouldn't count U2 as a shooter, it's an action/adventure. Maybe Episodes From Liberty City if that counts as a shooter.

It's just as popular as MW2 online, everyone and their grandmother plays Halo 3 multiplayer on Live.
