So MW2 is the most hated game on SW ?

For a long time it was Halo and COD4 was praised by all... but now MW2 seems to have taken it's spot. Kinda surprising since MW2 is multiplat and I am enjoying it alot. It could be because it just recently came out and Halo 3 came out 2 years ago. So is it just me or MW2 the most hated game now on SW?

Its because MW2's single player was shorter than MW1's, 5 hours VS 6. And not as good, imo and many others. Also MW2's multiplayer was basically MW1's multiplayer just with some chances, of which encouraged dieing to be alright and not exactly much of a punishment for sucking.

Maybe people are just starting to realize that they shouldn't pay a bunch of money to get more of the same? Maybe? Maybe? No, I guess not.jalexbrown

CoD isnt the only game where each game is very similar. Its just that MW2 is so popular, just like the Wii that 'elitists' hate. And to be honest, I like MW2 a lot more than Counter Strike.

It sure is! I still love it, despite its flaws. I have the 360 and PC versions, but play mostly on PC.

Modern Warfare 2 is a fun game, but I would only play the game on consoles. I would never touch the game on a PC, simply because how IW went out of their way to gimp the PC version. Heck, I'm having more fun playing TF2 and Dragon Age Origins than Modern Warfare 2.hiphops_savior

I dont understand why people rip on MW2 for being more of the same with some new additions when thats what usually a sequel is. I dont see the same hate going around for Left 4 Dead 2, Assassins Creed 2, Halo 3, Street Fighter IV, etc. :?

I mean, COD4 was a great game that didn't receive as much hate, how does improving on that with some more bells and whistles suddently piss everyone off?

I just made a thread about how much I hate MW2... MW2 became a pointless game just like Halo 3. It feels like those games where made just for the money (duhh lol).

Its not really an improved sequel over COD4. The "wow" factor has died out it seems. I personally think that the sequel should have a campaign of at least 10 hours.

40$ at release

Modern warfare 2:

5 hour long campaign

Spec ops

60$ at release

There will always be a group of people who hate on anything that is generally liked by most people. The problem is that a large percentage of that group resides in SW.

Nah, Halo 3 is still the most hated around here imo.

to be honest i liked the campaign it was fun but the main problem is the online first it was laggy and had glicths and they never fixed the respawning as i died 5 times in a run when a chopper gunner was overhead

The game shows a clear step back from what a good, at least decent and true fps should be like. I dont see why others cant notice that. However, if people, generally the common herd which I find annoying thankfully, find it fun, than at least their happy. I hope it overall doesnt give other devs a reason to take notice that people like this and decide to profit from an easy win so to speak.

Naah, i'd say Halo is miles more hated, considering that from what i see in System Wars not just here but anywhere, saying COD>Halo or "I'm converting from Halo to COD" is more acceptable than vice versa. And don't forget about the "Bud and Bob" incident (although Gordon Freeman won and from what i know Valve loyalists hate Halo so that says something.)

Not to mention that Halo helped jumpstart the Xbox brand to what it is today, which infuriates Nintendo, Sony, and even Apple fans.

The hate is misplaced because people should be hating themselves for being weak and caved in boycotting MW2.

There's no reason good enough to deny yourself a quality title imo.

If you look at the vote numbers for that match up, they are huge compared to all the other match ups. mostly current heroes vs the more obscure ones.

The highest was a vote for 44,055 for one match up.

when Master Chief was brought up against Bub and Bob- the Chief got a staggering 59,921 votes, but when matced against Bub and Bob, Bub and Bob got 66,934. I think the highest vote for any hero on the competition.

When Bub and Bob was matched against Sonic in the secondround 24,000 votes dropped off for Bub and Bob mysteriously and there weren;t that many extra votes tallied in for Sonic for the verse from the previous round.LOL

i wonder why MW2 is currently the most played game i mean its just same old crap as MW1 right? it should have been dead like killzone 2 and uncharted 2

i dont see why everybody acts like its the same game. they added alot

multiplayer has alot of new stuff,they added co-op, & theres alot of maps especially compared to fps pf the year KZ2 which by the way had no split screen at all either

id say KZ2 is easliy a worse deal then MW2

I can understand people not caring for the "more of the same" that Modern Warfare 2 offers, but the hate is ridiculous. Some people act like the game insulted them. It's especially hilarious when people praise COD4, but "hate" MW2 for being a rehash. If you liked the first game so much, why the hell would you hate a rehash of that formula with such a fiery passion?

Also, the game, while not everybody's cup of tea, is still well-made FPS. It astounds me that a well-made FPS inspires such rage in people. I think people are hating moreso on Activision and are just projecting their rage at the game. And I think people love to whine on this forum.

Modern Warfare 2 was definitely a rehash, but all series should be allowed one rehash IMO (and a gang of sequels fall into this pattern). I don't think the Modern Warfare series has become a gratuitous sort of cycle of rehashes ala Ratchet and Clank yet.
