GT5 appears to be more realistic than any other game. Have Polyphony actually stated that it's no longer a sim?SolidSnake35Well any racer that does not have damage in modern gaming can not possibly be considered a simulator. Also games like Forza are far better when it comes to the true driving experience.

It only came into the game if you closed your eyes whilst driving, and even then you'd only notice slight damage after a head on smash.
[QUOTE="sneekite"]GT5 prologue is not representative of the final game.rybe1025So PS3 users are paying $40 and it is not that same as the game. Sounds kinda like a rip off to me. It proves how popular GT is though. ;)

You should check it out because it is pretty obvious you have not tried Forza 2) Also how are you going to insult Forza's damage when GT does not have anything at all. I mean really what the heck is the game even supposed to be simulating, what it is like to drive in a cartoon?
Does not matter what the developers say really. What if the developer of Tetris called his game a first person shooter would it mean it is one?just because you and other lemming say it isent a sim anymore dosent make it an arcade game. it is a sim until the dev change it to an arcade.
quit being fanboys

your opinion of a game dosent change the game itself

I mean really what the heck is the game even supposed to be simulating, what it is like to drive in a cartoon?rybe1025I have Forza 2 and it doesn't even compare well with Gran Turismo 4. The damage is useless if you plan on driving properly. If you want to see your car destroyed however, you can't. I can insult Forza's damage because you claim that it's the reason for why Forza is better than Gran Turismo. Well, if it's such a great feature, why is it so limited? GT doesn't bother with it so there's nothing to complain about.

Over 115,000 people bought the game in the first week on sale in Japan, and that's excluding the PSN downloads and last weeks Media Crate sales. So there is obviously a market for it if people are buying it. I wonder what will happen once it's been released worldwide and is available on western PSN stores.

Have you actually played the game you're talking about here? :?
I wish I hadn't.wow damage now decides if a game simulates racing or not. I thought the driving part was the sim guess i forgot the main part of racing seriously, is trying to crash.
the tc sounds like a jealous fanboy finding anything to put down a franchise with some of the hardest working perfectionists working on it.
if polyphony were a bunch of perfectionist they would have given us online in GT4 like they promised instead of some lameass picture thingwow damage now decides if a game simulates racing or not. GT Prologue is for fans of a game. The demo of it is free though. Live is for anyone who wants to play online, which should be a free service.wow damage now decides if a game simulates racing or not. and yet crysis was endlessly praised because trees fall apart.
GT is for casuals who like to look at cars not race them

i agree with you there, mostly because there is nothing to disagree with. while i think Forza is a better game, i doubt it will ever come close to outselling any GT game.Gran Turismo 3 also came bundled with alot of PS2s because my neighbor and my cousin they both got Gran Turismo 3 free with a PS2, but to the TCs question my favorite Arcade Racer is Mario Kart Series, or F-Zero Series.Nintendo_Ownes7
yes, but i believe the numbers i posted do not include bundles but were all sold by them selves
:| Forza is arcade racer, its so unrealistic, you destroy your car and yet for some reason you can keep going? GT 5 >>>> Forza, PGRZeroPunctuation
so clipping a wall and damaging your suspension is less realistic than just bouncing off with no damage. cows just go straight to extremes to try and discredit forza damage, its so stupid. forza>>>>>GT>>>>>PGR.

i would be good with no threads about forza or GT for a while
and thanks i hate it when people use sale numbers to say a game is better. that was not my intention but it turned out that way on accident
