The one that is paying €65 a game? I dunno about you, but I never spend more than $30 on a game.[QUOTE="TheElfChild"]
I want to see a console owner who cares.

And I'm not going to look up the exchange rate. The fact is, games depreciate in price very quickly, even when they're new. There's no reason EVER to pay full price for any game.True_Gamer_
[QUOTE="TheElfChild"]I lol'd :D He's right, trying to control a Total War game with a console controller would be torture.Using motion capturing (Project Natal) and voice scanning capabilities (End War was it?) might soon make playing RTS games on a console...fun. Dare I say it.I want to see a console owner who cares.

If it was on 360 they would be using it as evidence they are more powerful than PS3, if it was PS3 they would be declaring it as being only possible because of Cell.
It is easy not to care when you don't have access, just like no console gamers wanted to play Crysis before Crysis 2 was announced cross platform.

Dare I say it. It sounds good in theory, but End War failed in voice scanning, and I don't see the pointer working for Natal either, it would just be too slow.[QUOTE="tagyhag"][QUOTE="TheElfChild"]

i care. its a shame my PC will never be able to handle this game
that's a lot of units on the screen

Project Natal was just an idea to hint what I was talking about. Motion capturing is the future of Gaming (maybe 3 generations from now). And besides, WHY THE HELL are you shooting down Project Natal when it isnt even out? Just because it looks gimmicky doenst mean that it nesscesarily wont work (though it probably wont  ).[QUOTE="Kimbo_Slyce"]

No, the PC also has the most AAAe, and AAe games of this gen by far :D
But no. Playing that game with a controller would be torture. The reason RTS games get low scores for consoles is because controllers suck for them.

I thought these elitist PC gamers were becoming more original. Guess I was wrong

Oh and that last sentance was totally true...
Meh, a couple thousand units on screen. Still not wow worthy. I'll wait til Starcraft II comes along.DPhunkT
Thirty-eight thousand actually, if you bothered to do the math. ;)
[QUOTE="mitu123"]Thanks to the Wii, another generation or two might mean that consoles will be rivaling DS graphics ;) I kid, I kid... but it's scary. You may have a point. I dont believe Sony and MS will put out a next gen console that pushes the power forward like they did this gen. They saw how much money nintendo is getting. Next gen i believe will see a slight advancement but nothing on this gen. So in a way the Wii has stalled the Graphic Race i think.Give consoles another gen or 2.:P

Certainly, you cared enough to post in this thread, respond to my post, and generalize PC gamers as being "elitist".

Nope I never heard of evolution, is that like a band or something? Ok, let's just say, to help you case, "3 generations from now" consoles come out with perfect motion capturing, now are you seriously telling me that you'll be able to control an RTS game with just your hands and voice? Do you know how quick you have to be with just the mouse (Not to mention hotkeys)? You'll have to have faster hands than Bruce Lee to do what PC users do with their mouses. XD[QUOTE="tagyhag"]

Just because it looks gimmicky doenst mean that it nesscesarily wont work (though it probably wont  ).Kimbo_SlyceIt's just math. You have an input device (mouse) with an infinite two-dimensional input plane (using a fast lift motion for planar reset) and hundreds, if not thousands, of times the precision of a joystick. Currently even the best motion-control systems are less precise than joysticks, and far less precise than mice. Now take a game type where fast, intuitive, and precise input can be game-breaking - the RTS - and tell me NATAL is going to work on consoles for RTS. - The situation only gets worse when you consider keyboards. I can bind dozens of commands to a keyboard, all accessible in less than two keystrokes, and all 100% precise. If I bind SHIFT + T to "scroll to home base" then every time I hit those keys it will happen. There's no room for guesswork, like there is in a motion control system, where each additional command makes the other commands more vague. Add in that "macro motion commands" are inherently unintuitive (what's the natural motion for "riflemen build barricade" or "gather vespene gas"? ) and the situation is just worse. - They really ought to just add keyboard and mouse support to console RTS games, given that every console on the market has USB ports, it really wouldn't be hard to do.

How couldn't you care about Empire? It's arguably one of the biggest games in scope and ambition in all history.I want to see a console owner who cares.

[QUOTE="enterawesome"]So what? The soldiers look crappily detailed anyway.tagyhag
Er...Is that a joke?
And think about it... even if there's not much detail (which you just proved wrong) there's several thousand infantrymen streaked around the place in a typical battlefield. Even 2000+ Master Chief models from the original Halo would be fairly taxing, and these guys are considerably more detailed than any pre-2004 FPS model.
