They're both doing the same thing and buying/taking stuff away. :|

You guys are hypocrites. Whenever someone talks about having 1 console they're like NOEZ, COMPETITION IS GOOD!!1

but hello, EXCLUSIVES are a part of the competition, if people keep taking away exclusives then theres no competition left, get it?

It's really stupid of Sony not to keep FF13, but its also damaging competition when Microsoft keeps throwing money at everything to get ahead, and the same goes with EA.

Micrsoft is SHARING FF13 with the PS3, so its not exclusive to them. And Microsoft can never monopolise the gaming industry if they cannot get 360s off the shelves in Japan.

It doesnt matter that its only sharing. Microsoft's taken away one of the biggest reasons to buy a PS3 if you dont have either console, thats good business for Microsoft, but not gaming as a whole imo.

If it were a fair trade-off, like Sony getting a big exclusive, then it would even itself out, but by the looks of things PS3 keeps losing everything.

That's 1 big one, Sony needs more then that.

I'm gonna wait till tomorrow for full judgement but as of now, the rest of their exclusives are either a long ways away, or dont match the importance of FF13.

If MS was trying to monopolize they would have bought bizzarre creations and Bioware when they were offered the chance to. They also would not have released bungie. Sony is alot more guilty of trying to monopolize than MS is and the only company who achieved a monopoly was Nintendo in the 1980's. Your opinion has no evidence to back it up so you Fail.

People keep talking X360 and PS3 and as if that's all that matters.

Guess what? The ONLY people making REAL money this generation are Nintendo and Sony/MS can't dream of changing that anytime soon.

MS is making a profit on every 360 sold and Sony is losing money on the PS3. Back on topic MS could of monopolized the market but, they didn't. EA on the other hand is right now.

Gran Turismo 5? You know, game from the best selling exclusive series last gen? Final Fantasy Versus XIII, confirmed by Square Enix to be exclusive? God of War 3? Twisted Metal?

I hate what EA has done to sports.

The only EA sports game I still buy is NCAA football, and thats only because I am a huge CFB fan.

it's FAR better for us gamers....As long as consoles have some exclusives (I don't care about PC gaming one bit btw), there's always a reason to own one or another. :| FF13 is not a huge loss for Sony and the PS3, but it is a massive gain for 360 owners. Sony's fans will still get the game they've been waiting for and 360 owners will now too. Quit your whinning and accept the FACT that MS is trying to make sure their console has all the games that their fanbase would want.

There is alot wrong and alot right with what you've said...

Whats right is the fact that without exclusives WE are being tricked into buying three consoles that have very little to distinguish themselves from one another... its getting to the point that the companies even claiming to have differences is laughable.

Whats wrorng is that your talking about a highly competetive field where, each of the three companies is trying to monopolize the market, arent they? think about it... MS doesn't want you to buy a Sony, Sony doesn't want you to buy an xbox and I still can't believe anyone has bought a wii (joke). The point is, the second any of the three companies start thinking about NOT monopolizing the market its the second that company may as well fold... bottom line, its buisness

the solution... unified platform... I want it and in your heart of hearts, you want it too.....

It is just good business. Microsoft wants people to buy it's console, how does Microsoft do it? They sell games. Microsoft is not the bad guy here, it's Sony. Sony does not want to pay for exclusives, which means less games. Get mad at Sony for doing a lack luster job this gen.

Sony needs FAR more than one or two system sellers. What the PS3 really needs is a software lineup that hits up all the genres as they did with the PS2. Sonys' arrogance is destroying ANY possibility they may have to gain the market share they've already lost. One game like FF13 is not as big of a heavy hitter that many would like to think. The past couple FF games have been awful and the series has yet to prove it's even a mear shadow of what it once was. SE has a long way to go if they really want to make me (and many others) believe that the FF series is still as incredible as it once was. Thus far all they've shown us is that they can only remake older FF's and that spin offs are about as creative as they can be.
