So... Project CARS - new graphics king? (56k)

Made by guys behind NFS SHIFT series. This project is not related with EA. Apparently is community-funded project or something.

New graphics king? And, these are not bullshots. Directly from the game. And not in-engine.

Anyway, it's a multiplat title for PC, 360, PS3, Wii U.

Well, now that I can see the pics, it looks great.

The PC version does look great. The beta is very pretty and runs smooth. It'll be interesting to see what mods will be out for it. As for console versions, I haven't seen any footage of the game running on them, but there is no way they will come at all close to the PC version.

Devil is in the details. Project CARS models have an insane amount of details. Sure, GT5 and Forza are able to render pretty good amount of detail, but I'm not sure it's on the same level as this game.

These are gameplay pics. You can move the camera freely when you stop gameplay and position it whatever way you want for the shot. People never take normal pics because why would they when you can do this? :P

Also TC you are going to get a bunch of people here saying Forza and GT5 look better, which they don't, but just be prepared :P

From what I can see, C.A.R.S. does a better job at portraying materials and has proper indirect illumination and cleaner shadows so it's easier to see the details than in GT or Forza but there's actually not a significant difference in the modelling.miriPlays

Again it's just the game paused and the camera moved for a better angle on the shot. It's not a photomode or a bullshot. it's all 100% in game.

Those look fantastic! Though they just confirm my theory that it's the same models as GT/FM in a engine that's better by several orders of magnitude.

The screenies will make nice wallpaper. I like.

I imagine this thread is going to turn into consolites saying they're all photoshopped or bullshots or something now instead of just admitting they look good.

I'll get a gaming PC just for this game. Only game that makes me actually jelly of hermits.

No doubt the console version will suck.

You can pay different amounts for different perks. Like you can pay 25 euro (in my case) and you can play weekly builds of the game and the 25 you gave funds the development of the game. People can give as much as they want to get the game finished but once you go over like 40 or 45 you get the game free.

For my 25 I can play the builds as much as I like and get 25 off the final game or not buy it at all if I don't want but my 25 goes towards making the game anyway. You also get a driver named after you. It's a smart system, since it's not a beta in the traditional sense, it's not for a set period, you can play it as much as you want like as real game

any PC game looks better than the best looking game on consoles, that's why I don't count PC as a graphic king, because PC is basically forever graphic king. There's nothing to debate unless we compare it to other PC games. In this case just take it to the appropiate PC only forum.

And I know this game will be out on consoles too but I doubt any of them will be able to render it at that same quality anyway. And seeing as this is a multiplatform release you can bet that it's not gonna take advantage of any of the consoles' hardware. The best version will be on the console with the best GPU, just as simple as that. So it'll probably be the Xbox or the Wii U depending on its final specs (which we still don't even know yet).

Check your arguments before posting. If those are bullshots, how in the world could any racing game look better by that matter?

If those are not bullshots (I can't say they are or are not since I haven't played the game), GT5 and Forza are left in the dust just like that.

And apparently we have some PR CARS beta testers here who might tell us how the game looks in-game. Unless you're under NDA.

The game looks fabulous anyone calling "bullshots" is trolling or simply blind and can't see the gameplay videos that look incredible.
