I understand Xbox fanboys, but I never understood the back lash from so-called PC fans on this board who've spent in the thousands to upgrade their system for marginal improvement over consoles getting so upset.

I get it though. The more hardware investment Sony makes into new consoles, the farther away the pipe dream of day 1 Sony 1st party games are on PC is for you. That's tough. Anyway..

If you ARE interested in getting a PS5 Pro and have any reservations on whether to pull the trigger or not, if you snooze you'll probably lose.

If this initial launch is anything to go by, all you grifters who have been so invested in preaching to everyone why you won't get a PS5 Pro won't need to worry, because you probably wouldn't be able to get one anyway without extreme diligence.

I don't understand why you're spreading false claims about how the PS5 Pro went on presale and is already sold out within seconds. This is not true. This presale was for the very limitedPS5 Pro 30th Anniversary Edition.

With that aside.....I know it's Australia and all, but holy crap that is expensive as hell.

Looking at what is included in the bundle and this is what I find:

set to include a PS5 Pro console with a 2TB SSD, one DualSense wireless controller, one DualSense Edge wireless controller and a DualSense Charging Station. It also comes with a Console Cover for use with the PS5's Disc Drive, but you'll need to buy the actual Disc Drive separately.

You get a PS5 console, 2 controllers, a charging station and a cover for the disc drive that you still have to buy separately.

AU prices:

• PS5 Pro - $1,199 (this includes the basic controller)
• DualSense Edge controller - $299
• DualSense Charging Station - $49
• Total cost = $1547

Difference in price when compared to the very limited 30th anniversary edition is $102.95. That $100 difference must be for the cover to the disc drive because the look of the anniversary edition and the normal PS5 Pro is very minimal and most likely cost next to nothing.

Consoles used to come with 2 controllers and a game. Then they started coming out with 1 controller and a game and then no game....just a console with a controller.

Regardless of all the overly negative opinions of this board, I think the Pro will be revealed to be an amazing upgrade and when people realize how close it is to higher end PC hardware/features it will be too late to simply "go ahead and buy one".

@above_average: I've a few thoughts on the matter. Like why are these still performance and quality modes. They should just always do 4k/60fps.

But I mean what I did read does look pretty good. As a PC gamer I like my old games looking better as time and tech moves on (Hogwarts, Alan Wake)

But mainly I'm just interested in how PSSR will be used to great effect. And especially how it compares to tech we have on PC like DLSS and XeSS.

Took over 3 hours to sell out in UK, and now they are back up for sale in UK. Looks like they are doing waves.

Simply put, because not even the highest end PC can "always do 4k/60fps"!

So, to fully answer your question. I think devs will put it there when it's optimal. Quality modes are options because the reality is even the best hardware has limitations.

Ok? There was always going to be a certain number of people who were going to buy it right away. Then you also have the scalpers. Also weird how you act like if you don’t get one now then you’ll never get one. The truth is that if the PS4 Pro is anything to go by then the vast majority of people are going to go with the base PS5.

If RT is important than sure you can justify spending on new hardware :)

It was always going to sell out at launch, every console does.

The question is how long will that last.

And it is still available in the UK as of 10 minutes ago.

It think it's an important reference.

The argument of where I value RT doesn't negate it's existence or it's utilization in games and as a graphical feature which is becoming more common.

The fact that the PS5 Pro has tremendous leverage in that area will allow developers to bestow owners of PS5 Pro those RT features that were previously exclusive to higher end PC users.

AAA games aren't becoming any lighter, so the question is do I want to suffer through BASE PS5 FF7 Rebirth levels of blury, blocky visuals for the next 4 years?

I understand, but FF7 "awful" graphics (not my words, those from Digital foundry) are a developer skill issue. The minority of games are badly optimized.

But you are correct, the PS5 pro will give you a lot less dilemmas. It's no longer 30fps OR clarity. It can be 60fps with clarity.

I paid more for a piss ass PC not even as good as a PS5. It's relatively easy to spend $1000 on a PC and get mediocre results. This is an easy $700 for me, hope I can snag one.

It was expected due to scalpers. Dont worry, once the scalpers cant sell the consoles you'll actually see how little demand the console will have

Seems you don't understand how this process works.

At least for the US it's only thru PlayStation Direct.

That means you can only buy the system after having a unique PS account and then, once you buy one of the preorder items from the que you are not allowed to purchase the same item again with that account.

This system is literally designed against scalpers, so that line of thought is misguided at best.

I was able to get a regular PS5 Pro just now. “More than an hour” crew, there is still hope!

Yea I got there early, and it was weird, I got through the queue and into the website but I was too early.
So I kept waiting and then until about 9am, I was put into the waiting room.
Then I finally got in and I couldn't order the Pro 30th anniversary, it said "currently unavailable".
And I was pissed! and was ready to give up, but kept refreshing, and it finally showed up, and it was a struggle but I finally got through haha. Couldn't believe it!

Even though I got mine, I closed out PS Direct, and went back in without a queue, and the Pro is still showing available. You should be good to go, if you go there now.

Ugh, I'm in but none of the add to cart buttons work. lol

As overpriced as it is, if I didn't have a gaming PC I'd probably buy one.

For those that cant stand 30fps gaming, at least the Pro will (attempt to) give you the best of PS5 without also sacrificing resolution.
