That would be great, only problems with Heavenly Sword was the length of the game and some tweaks needed to the combat stances. Hopefully Sony Santa Monica takes it over. I unfortunately doubt it's the game they will announce though.

I am hoping for a Vita title but still cool if its HS2 I loved the first, first game of the current gen that made my jaw dropped while watching the facial animations.
Santa Monica Studio helped out on the original game, and if I remember correctly the original devs said they already had the scripts written for a second and third game. This was back in 08-09 or sometime. They had an entire trilogy planned, but it got canceled because the first game wasnt profitable and development costs were too high for PS3. (tell me sales dont matter again cows ;) ) If anybody did take it over it would be SantaMonica Studio, and I would buy it if they could make the franchise relevant.
That would actually be pretty cool. I really enjoyed Heavenly Sword, at least from a story and character standpoint. The gameplay was pretty fun as well, but a bit simplistic.
^pansy I wouldn't mind seeing Santa Monica build a better game around the defensive counter ideas in Heavenly Sword. While I'm not a fan of the combat in that game(it was underwhelming) I liked the counters and stuff. Plus we need an action game where defense is a major key. NG is the only one that really puts a real focus on defense, and that's almost primarily blocking.

Yeah, their GoW PSP games held up pretty well vs. the console series from what I heard. I wouldn't be surprised if they took on GoW 4 while Santa Monica did something else.
But now that I think of it, Santa Monica might have been tied to GoW 4 in the rumors already, so maybe they are collaborating/giving oversight.

They've said that they won't continue working on GoW and that they will work on a new IP for the next generation of consoles.

Its simply just another good franchise that PS3 gamers get to enjoy. I love it. I know many will also. Really, what's not to love about that?.... Its the long anticipated sequel to boot! Well, i guess when you are an xbot with no games to play LMAO, only having Halo 25 to play for the whole year, then yeah, you are going to be bitter and jelly. actaully Ninja Theory said they will never make a PS3 exclusive ever again back when Heavenly Sword came out. They said they hated SONY and thats why Heavenly Sword 2 was never made, not even for the PSP.

I dont really mind if its GOW4 or Heavenly Sword 2. I would love either one, but I would really be surprise and even more hyped for HW2 tho. I loved HW1
