nice job that they finally have wireless? Anyways, sony will have N wireless on their new models that are coming out. Eitherway, you will not know the speed diferrence unless you have premium cable/dsl speeds.

Wireless N I assume would help me a bit because I am sometimes 2 floors away from the router. But even with that, with a Netgear pumping out G, I still get full bars on my laptop and when I had LIVE.

They've had a Wireless N adapter for a while on 360. Now it's just integrated.

However, I doubt most home users will notice a difference between G and N. I haven't so far.

Well with any recent 360 without wifi, you can always upgrade the wifi with the superior standard N wifi with the adapter. I didn't even know Sony has a wifi adapter for the PS3. Got any links to any PS3 wifi N+ adapter?

I just built a new PC it has USB 3.0 slots and SATA 6gb connections. Is my mobo manufacturer going to rebate everyone else it sold in the past? Is Microsoft going to offer a rebate to anyone without Wifi or that bought a G adapter? No and you shouldn't expect them too. With technology you just have to be happy with what you got at the time of purchase, you can't look back.

For one, some people can't wire for practical concerns (either the router's too far away or not theirs). For another, 802.11n actually provides the potential for wireless speeds comparable with wired hookups.

Your not going to notice a difference.. The bottleneck is peoples internet connections not the wifi..

By potential you mean for transfering large amounts of data over the network.. Then yes. For streaming videos, watching movies, and gaming.. You won't notice a difference between the two inless you have some kind of ridiculous amounts of interference.. Which I can't see how you can now a days when places like my college campus network doesn't have such problems when I use it.

Ethernet is better then wifi for every situation as far as connectivity and speed is concerned.

So I guess now all the people that have been using the 360 on ethernet are going to disconnect and reconnect on wifi because at a 60' distance they get a better signal then people using the PS3 wifi.

Yea. ok. Well I use ethernet anyway, my wireless router is only for my laptop my wife and I use in the bedroom... options are nice though... I guess its good that it is at least an option now on the 360.

The difference is so small its unnoticable for games, stream videos, and what not.. The only real differences I saw was when transfering large amounts of data across the network..

Its like filling a swimming pool with a fire hose instead of a garden hose. If you're filling a glass, the difference in speed is slight but present. The difference really comes out over the duration of traffic, i.e. large chunks of data.

The nice thing about Wireless N is the extra signal range, not the extra speed.

Congratz, you have better wifi for a few hours. Then the update to the PS3 comes out and we still have:

More exclusives

Better Graphics

Bigger HDD

3D

Bluray

Built-in batteries to our controllers

AND Kevin Butler :P

You only notice differences between g/n when your bandwidth is really high. Although wireless n has better quality connection to routers / modems and less interference issues.

it always has, and that's probably only handy if 1. You steal internet from the neighbors 2. your router sucks.

Using N really does help with interference/distance problems, but the people who would've had those problems but want to play online would've already found a way to fix their problem, i.e. wired connection, moving the router, moving the 360. I had a computer with wireless that had a kitchen between the router and computer and it was prone to interference. Using the microwave completely cut off the connection. Switched to a N adapter and problem completely solved.

Seriously, after years of saying "LOLZORS WIFI SUCKS FOR TEH GAMING" Lemmings are now saying "LOZLORS OUR WIRELESS IS TEH BETTER!"? Stick to your guns... Wireless G sucked for gaming, and Wireless N does too. Works for some people, but depending on where you are located, it won't work for many.

What if you just bought a Xbox 360? I mean you don't even have Wi-Fi...

And i thought all Lems ran 50 gb/s fiberoptic cables with their Xbox 360s and Wi-Fi was only for us n00b cows...

See the ironic thing is that lemmings have been ignoring that argument for years when it comes to the fact that 360 had no wifi out of the box and requires a $100 adaptor.
