So this is the amazing damage and physics modelling that Forza has?

Wow so realistic!

From what I've seen on youtube, the only difference between GT5 and FM is FM cars get some texture changes when they crash. Lemmings were acting as if the cars get full, realistic destruction modelling or some crap with far superiour physics. Big deal, there really isn't that much of a difference between the two games in this regard. It's a small nook in the overall package.

Sure FM has damage for all cars which is a big advantage, but don't be acting like damage modelling in FM completely leaves GT5 in the dust.

Its not about the modelling, but the effect it has on the cars handling etc. Gosh, cows are SO OBSESSED over everything graphics and appearance  But yeah, lets base the whole of forza on that one incident that was obviously some sort of bug or glitch.

That doesn't matter. I'm talking more specifically about the damage modelling. Find me a more suitable representation of the damage/physics in FM3 and my comment will more than likely still apply.

Say what you want, the bottom line is it took the fifth release of a so called sim to include any kind of damage.......that's weak. Even the second Madden release on consoles had injuries.

Wait... Why did you just show me a glitch video? A car dosen't get damaged while it's flying through the air, it slammed into the wall and was damaged as such.

So to test it lets get both games going, on the large oval track, get 2 cars going full speed head on into eachother. My bet is the cars in forza will smash, go into the air, and recieve heavy damage, while the cars in GT will bump off of eachother like a ridiculous arcade game bumper car sillyness

It's possible that this is a bug in the code to constrain the car's behavior in a crash to meet manufacturer's requirements. I could see the anti-rollover code from FM2 causing that, for instance.

Apparently TC thinks that doesn't matter. By his logic you can take an older GranTurismo game & compare it against Forza 3 for ownage against the PS3.

jeez, you actually dug up a 2007 video, then talk about Forza's physics modelling knowing that video is clearly a bug/error to somehow use this video to downplay Forza3 ?

That's Forza 2, Forza 3 will most likely be improved, and also that's still miles better than GT5, mainly because it's not just your door opening up, also when you crash in Forza it slows you down, rather than you just bumping off everything like in GT5.

You guys are really missing the point but it's my mistake since I used a bug video. You can look for my GT5 posts/threads (check this one out and then call me a Cow) and you'd see that I was butthurt regarding the crappy damage modelling in the game (and also the fact that not all cars have damage modelling). I hadn't seen any FM videos, but somebody made a comment along the lines of, 'Okay, show me the "superior" damage modelling and physics of FM." I thought that was a good point, so i searched for FM3 on youtube and was amazed at how flat out PRIMITIVE the damage modelling was. Seriously, Lemmings act as if it's the second coming when it just seems to be minor texture changes and a bit of distortion when a car gets hit - whoopdiedoo! GT5 may not have that, but it really isn't all that big a deal in the first place, especially when comparing the bigger picture. I checked out the DiRT2 demo today, and holy crap, the damage modelling in that game is actually impressive.

You know, there actually are a couple great videos of FM3 damage modeling already posted. Today. Here. Still on the front page.

Funny how you guys found this thread and can't wait to put your 2 cents in about the injustice being done, but "missed" the thread with the actual damage videos...

I would be inclined to disagree. I was actually distracted by how bad the damage was in Forza 2.

That doesn't matter. I'm talking more specifically about the damage modelling. Find me a more suitable representation of the damage/physics in FM3 and my comment will more than likely still apply.

Why bother when you admit Forza2 has better damage than the tacked on POP-OFF-PARTS mode coming in GT5?

You can only do so much cosmetic damage without manufacturers pulling away. I don't believe major deformation is allowed, crumple zones etc.

GT5's damage at that point were not the final build and it still beats F3.
