[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"][QUOTE="DAZZER7"] The TC is absolutely right. But the Cows just reply with but but teh 360 is being pwned! lol
Anyway cows, like you say, the PS3 is doing well despite the games library, despite the online and despite the high price point!
Please I would love some of you to answer this: What are you so proud of?
(a) It is living of the PS2 name?
(b) Its doing well as a blu-ray player!
You're the ones who keep coming up with the "PS3 doing well despite ..." argument! lol
DAZZER7
(a) PS2 has been out for 7+ years, PS3 has been out for about 1 year....lets bring that common sense thats supposed to be in this thread to play here. Tell me you dont see the flaw in logic from comparing the sales of a console thats been out for 7 years to that that has been out for 1 year.
(b) You make it seem like no one bought a PS3 to play games. Yes, i already know your response "Just look at NDP sales! no one is buying PS3 software!" I agree that the NDP PS3 software sales are not great, but you, like the majority of the Xbox followers are living in denial. X360 is still selling strong in only one region NA, and so you only talk about sales in NA. You need to realize that there are other nations and continents out there. PS3s are being sold in Europe, Asia, Africa and so on, and so is the software. So going by logic, you cant make the claim that PS3 software is not selling since you dont have all the relavent data. Hence you cant make the claim that the PS3 is selling as a Blu-ray player.
Now lets assume that the main reason people are buying the PS3 is for blu-ray (as im sure is true for a reasonable number of people). Logically speaking, you dont expect me to believe that these people, with a PS3, will use it as nothing more than a Blu-Ray player, even though it has the capability to play games. Im sure they will rent a game just to check it out, and eventually end up buying sum. Need proof? Look at the PS2. Why do u think it sold so well over the years? It started out as nothing more than a Cheap DVD player, and eventually transcended into the best gaming console on the market.
I was asking a question and giving 2 possible answers. I really dont believe that people are buying the PS3 primarily as a blu-ray player although I'm sure that is a factor in many purchases. If you think about it logically, when people say that the PS3 is doing so well despite having a poor games library, despite online etc they dont stop to think about the point they are actually making.
The point they ARE making and in my opinion is that the PS3 is doing well due to the PS2 fanbase. Its a console with the name playstation on it! If it was brand new and was made by phillips etc the take up wouldnt be any where near what it is. So in that sense, I ask what are the people who say 'despite this reason x, y and z the PS3 is doing well' so proud of?
ah sorry, i misunderstood your post. I apologize :P
