So what games has given you the best "next-gen" experience thus far?

So i know earlier on in this generation of console games, i know allot of people would say things along the lines of "Its just a ps2 game at heart with updated graphics" or some thing similar.

So i ask, what game has really had you in awe at whats capable with the current consoles, this could stretch from astounding graphics, immersion in a game, any thing.

So what game for you defines this gen of gamming?

well let me go first,

and i think you saw it comming but im saying MGS4, that game just had my head glued to my tv till the end. That in my opinion was a game to deffine this generation.

Fallout 3 & Mass Effect

ha oddly enough, mass effect is like the main game tempting me to buy a 360 for. Does look good:)

Crysis for me.

Oblivion for its huge singleplayer

Bad Company for its immersive mp and destructive environments

Gears1 and 2 for their graphics

I agree TC. MGS4 was beyond epic for me. The story,graphics,gameplay,etc... were all top notch.

Why do people insist on calling it next-gen?

I would say halo 3 but it screams last gen more than this gen, except for the lighting.

Halo 3 and Little Big Planet.

Although both are great in terms of graphical fidelity, the focus of both is community. Co-op, adversarial, creating, sharing... all built into the retail package.

Community: that's what next gen is all about for me. Halo 3 and LBP are stunning examples of this.

Assassin's Creed, because it was something new.

Metal Gear Solid 4 for me. A truly epic expereince.

Metal Gear Solid 4, Zack & Wiki, Mass Effect, and thats about it

Everything else on consoles i'd think would be just as tolerable with some compromises on Xbox Original

excluding of course games on PS3, 360 and PC (like orange box)

I think mirror's edge could hold a "next-gen" title I mean it's somethin i think devs could only dream of doing of last gen.

MGS4 for me. Killzone 2 was pretty amazing for me as well. The Gears of War series also deserves a mention.

Its odd but I have to say fight night round 3 is my first "next gen experience"

Ive had all three systms at one time or another and personally 1. ps3 2. 360 3. wii sucks never buy it waste of money..... havnt had a chance to play PC 360 was a close second but ps3 has had awesome excluives and free online... oh and blu ray... i dont have many movies for it

gears of war on the 360 was the first game that felt "next gen" to me but overall id have to say crysis, definitely. and not just because of the super sexy graphics.

I think mirror's edge could hold a "next-gen" title I mean it's somethin i think devs could only dream of doing of last gen.

Yeah, that was pretty much my thoughts throughout the game. It had that "pushing the envelope" feel to it.

Crysis Mass Effect Arma 2 Uncharted Gran Turismo Gears Killzone 2. All great next gen titles from a technical stand point.

mgs4 was my first current-gen game. after that i played Assassin's Creed and i spitted on it.

easily little big planet. it does what no other game has done and it does it extremely well. it shows what this gen is capable of. if only more games were like it. (mod nation racers :D)

In no particular order: Mass Effect, Crysis, Company of Heroes, GRAW, Dawn of War 2, PGR 3, PGR 4, STALKER:SoC and Dead Space.
