Good man, reviews do give you a good hint of the game though, most of the time. Sometimes they're flat out wrong. Yeah, I read some reviews to get a general idea of what to look forward to when playing/renting/buying a game.
It doesn't matter cuz only GS game reviews count here no matter how "biased" it is. If cows can claim ownage on zelda tp for flopping on GS only then other people can do the same to there games flopping on GS. But motorstorm hasnt done that and we don't know what they'll give them so I don't know why people are so quick to say motorstorm flopped.
I read earlier in a thread today that a cow was calling game rankings biased. Completely blew me off my seat when I read it. Who knew that a site that averaged every video game ranking on the internet was biased?
It is never a good idea to only look at 1 review and decide whether or not you think a game is worth trying. After all, reviewers are humans just like us, so it is impossible to not have bias because everyone has their own personal opinions about a game. Reviews should be looked at as a whole, that way we don't just focus on the opinion of one individual. It is also important to look up info on a game yourself to see whether or not you are even interested in the game in the first place. Demos also help so that you can try them without having to actually buy or rent a game.
I think an average of Gamespot, IGN, EGM, Gamespy, 1UP, Game Informer, and Gamepro is the best way to go. I used to go by gamerankings.com, but I've noticed some inconsistencies by going with that (due fan-sites and fan mags and other non-reliable review stuff).
I like this site A LOT. Sure, it may like the X-platforms more than the other platforms, but they try to stay neutral. In the end, it's like visiting Xbox.com with some reviews for PS and Nintnedo...which is nice.
Needless to say, Xfans like me are very, very welcome here.
i like gamespot as far as sites on that list. but i believe gamerankings gives u a better picture of what the game has to offer. its a score after every review for that game have been averaged so yep gamerankings has my vote. but gs does a great job and are one of the most credible review sites.
Reivews are just there to tell us what ONE person thinks... what we think could be WAY different... So No review site is the Best unbiased because all have to be biased to what the reviewers like... There is nothing wrong with being Biased, all that means is that you like some type of games more then others....
