Yeah, we know the obvious things, like how PC had best graphics, Wii had most casual games (its true, im not saying as if it didnt have any hardcore games, its just that it had the most shovelware.) but what about story? Basically exclusives only, pretty much.

I myself go for PC simply because ...its more creative. The xbox 360 has Gears and Halo, both revolving a similiar sci fi/war-esque premise. The Ps3 has some of this as well, with Resistance and Killzone 3. And while they're all great, the pc has a lot more in terms of different ideas.

Now, by story i dont only mean story, i also mean premise. For one, The binding of isaac. Very weird, creative, etc.

So, how about you?

Bastion has the best story. Even if it is because of the narrator, it's still an awesome way of telling the story.

EDIT- I guess Bastion isn't an exclusive, so, The Witcher.

I saw that you wrote "what system" and I decided it was dumb as f*** so I named a game instead.

Imo, Cryostasis has the best story in a video game ever, and it's a PC exclusive. So there you have my answer.

I love games with a good soundtrack, Bastion had that and it pulled me right to it quickly.

Oh yeah. A good soundtrack is important for setting the tone of a game. They used Zia's Theme perfectly with the game's narration when you first got to her. Absolutely fantastic!

The DS had some of my favorite stories in gaming this gen with Ghost Trick Phantom Detective, 999: Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, and The World Ends With You. And I still have to play the Ace Attorney, Proff. Layton, and SMT games. 999 would be the best story I've seen in gaming.

The story in Resistance 3 is a joke and the ending is horrid. Insomniac dropped the ball in every conceivable way with R3

well Nintendo's Story is pretty cool, it's about New Beginings and Heartache and Triumph. Pretty inspirational.

Sony's about betrayal and revenge and overcoming the odds so it's pretty cool story too.

Xbox's Story sucks, it's about If they could do it so can I.

Sega's story was tragic, and so was Atari's but Sega's was just down right sad.
I hope you all got the joke
My favorite Stories in games:

Planescape: Torment PC

Baldur's Gate 2 PC

Red Dead Redemption 360/PS3

System Shock PC

To the Moon PC

Mass Effect PC/360/PS3

... so I'd give the award to PC.

PC on the top because of its library dating back to 90's but in terms of this gen, DS is the best with great stories. Like Hotel Dusk Room 215, Ghost Trick, 999, Professor Layton, Trace Memory, Theresia, etc. As expected, no one in SW knows or plays these games.

I would go with the 360 mostly because of the big franchises, Gears and Halo. Halo progressed well throughout the series especially with the addition of Reach, and Gears of War had characters that were likeable and its cool how much backstory you can find from the collectible pickups available in the games.

I like games that take unique approaches to the way the stories are told; when it is done well it can become just as important as the story itself. Bastion does this in a great way with the narration. Also I liked the way Braid's story unfolds, too. And I can't wait for the Silent Hill HD Collection on March 6th. Silent Hill 2 has one of the better stories of any game I've played. All of those games are on the 360.

There are games with great stories on every platform though, it's just a matter of what you play games on. I also like the story in Uncharted: the first one.

I've played several of those games, and I do like the stories. But I still would take the 360.

And if we're going back in time so to speak, I would lean towards the SNES.

To The Moon>Phantom Detective: Ghost Trick>Little King's Story>Demons' Souls

Cant find think of any story I enjoyed on the 360. And yes, Demons' Souls has a good story, although it is very subtletly told.

The Longest Journey, Syberia I, Sanitarium, Planescape Torment provide such depth and intricately weaved stories that goes beyond the gaming medium. Xenogears has the best story and characters on a console, ever, arguably can rival Planescape, but one game alone isn't enough. So the PC platform is the obvious choice for me.

I played 999, and the story was great but not as good as say Planescape: Torment.

Wii had a ton a plot holes, and was too cutesy for its own good.

360 started out nicely, but it fell apart once the second act came to play.

PS3 was good, but the ending was straight robbery.

PC had a fragmented narrative, with an over-reliance on imagery to tell its tale.

So I dunno. Neither systems have truly great stories, nor do the games that come with them,
