Alright well I have held out on buying anything just to see how everything turned out. Well the consoles are dropping in price and alot of great games are out and coming out. But which one will be the best choice? I use the PC quite a bit and I play a few old demos like unreal tournament 2004 and some old games I got laying around. But my PC is nowhere near what it needs to be to handle the new games that are coming to PC.

My favorite genre is racing, fighting, sports, 3rd person action/adventure, puzzle and the occasional FPS and RPG. Also I do not really want to buy a Wii because I will admit I am a graphics whore and alot of the HD games that I am interested in are not coming to the Wii, and if they are they are watered down to Gamecube/Xbox level.

For your kinds of games the pc is a strong choice but it has no fighting games unless your into mugen. The pc is also the choice for graphics. What are your pc specs and how much do you want to spend ??

The 360 has good games but the hardware has major issues so I could not recommend it personally. The ps3 is a great console but does not have as many games but it has some monsters coming soon. The wii IMO is rubbish don't even think about it right now. Also do you game online and have a hdtv those are important to get the best console gaming experience ??

for the type of games you like Console is the better choice, and the 360 would have the most games in those genres. Though most RPGs, and FPSs would be better on PC I don't think you'd really be happy buying a pc just for the benefits of a few games that are probably going to come out on consoles anyway.

The pc has the best racing games hands down = GTR2,rFactor,Race07,Richard burns rally,Live for speed, netKar pro>>>>Forza 2/GT4 and even 5, pcalso has the best FF wheels and online also. If your into stuff like burnout then console would be a better choice.

If fighting games are important to you and you want a large library of good games get 360. If you want the largest library of games and the best graphics get PC. If you want to save money and still get some good games get Wii. If you want to wait for good games get PS3.

It's speed with linux is about p4 3.4GHz but on apps that use alot of memory it will drop to about p4 2.8 level. There are a ton of apps for free that you can use for watchingvideo and audio files, you can use office, email, video encoding, htpc apps ect. Anything linux can run can be run on the ps3 the only limit is memory. It alow end pc with a blu ray player the distros are not optimized for the cell yet so it will get even faster.

Also. What are your PC specs? You may be able to do a relatively inexpensive stop gap upgrade depending on what you already have.

If those are your preffered genres and you're not into FPS's much, then I'd definitely recommend a console instead of a PC ( I personally wouldnt, but thats me). Then, it just comes down to whether you like more 360 exclusives or you like more PS3 exclusives.

Ya i'm not a huge FPS fan but I do like to play them occasionally. Exclusives are not really that big of a deal to me... Ya they do make a difference but it's not as big as some of the people around hereplay it out as. I am more concerned about whatfeatures andwhat all the systemcan actually do...

Melty Blood pretty much makes up for the lack of choices by itself.

So if you had a choice to own a console or a PC. You would rather have a console. That would mean no internet, no aim, or anything else a computer does. I would rather have a PC that plays games and does a lot more than just one console.

Actually the PS3can be used as a PC as well so yes you can get on the internet and use it for all kinds of computer applications. But ya I dont use aim or any of those instant messengers because I have a cell phone ;).

Its obvious to go with the console for much cheaper price and all-round better performance, not too mention actually looks bette rsince its on a TV screen, which isn't cramped like a moniter.

It depends what kind of RPGs you are looking for. PC doesn't get jrpgs often if thats your thing. And no fighting games on the PC...I know it sucks. :/

PC gaming is unchallenged in the genres you prefer.
