So whats the best game so far this year

this will obviously change for most people before the end of the year with all the heavy hitters yet to hit, but so far whats your pic?

mine personally is deus ex without a doubt, im only about 4 hours in or so but wow what a game, one of this gens best IMO

My vote is for Deus Ex: HR. Such a masterpiece. Second favorite is Catherine, third being Portal 2.

Total War: Shogun 2. A lot of people are probably down on it since it didn't come out yesterday (and we all know how short our attention spans are when it comes to OMG best game of the year threads) but honestly, I've put more time and got the more fun out of it than anything else this year, and there were tons of games I liked (Alice and Bulletstorm were really really good).

Portal 2, Man I love that game. :D

Ghost Trick is my GOTY as of right now. Loved the characters in that game.

Ask this question again late December when I completely catch up and Rage, Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Gears of War 3, and Dark Souls are all out.

LittleBigPlanet 2 with Deus Ex in very close 2nd place.

Also, Crysis 2 in the poll is... interesting. I haven't spoken to 1 person who liked it.

Same here, Shogun 2 was amazing and so far i have clocked 200+ hours on it and not to mention the expansion looks awsome and it's only $10. I think BF3, Skyrim and Batman AC will give it a run for it's money

I'm out of my damn mind but Dungeons and Dragons: Daggerdale. I've got the 24 hour achievement and allow Live to renew for this.

Only games from this year I've bought are Killzone 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3so I guess I vote Killzone 3.

Dead Space 2 was awful. Same for killzone 3. I would go with either littlebigplanet 2 or portal 2. Haven't played deus ex so I wouldn't comment. It isn't the best though it is your favorite game.

I only played 2 games from this year so far Little Big Planet 2 and Pokemon Black and White.

I have to go with Pokemon Black and White (They are the best in the Series IMO)

Other for me, LBP 2 I got early this year and I'm still hooked lol. Only bad thing about it is the loading times, but everytime I turn it on I'm playing something new.

I want to say its a tie between Portal 2 and Deus Ex, for different reasons, but if you're putting a gun to my head, I have to pick Portal 2... it may be the best game this generation as it is the closest game to perfection Ive played in every aspect this gen.

Originally, my GOTY shifted from Portal 2, to The Witcher 2, and now the new Deus Ex game.

It has been a great year so far. I don't see Skyrim, Rage or Battlefield 3 upending Deus Ex in anyway, so I guess it's here to stay.

Crysis 2, but it's been a pretty poor year thus far. Kinda dissapointing considering how amazing 2010 was. Vanquish, NIER, RDR, GOW3 - all masterpieces. Crysis 2 is the only 2011 game so far that actually blew me away.

I've played just about every "big" release on console so far with the exception of Deus Ex: HR and nothing has really impressed me. There were a lot of good games but I haven't been blown away by anything. I guess if I had to choose I'd go with either Crysis 2 or Infamous 2 so far.
